“family owned and operated!!!”
Bighorn Park is a family owned and operated resort with an RV park, cabins, motel, and tenting area. We are located in the scenic Bighorn Sheep Canyon, and nestled on the Arkansas River in the sunny Colorado Rocky Mountains. Namesake Bighorn Sheep are frequently seen on the rugged rock cliffs across the river, while one might be fly fishing. Bighorn Park is a great place for your family and friends to stay while you visit the Royal Gorge Bridge and the Sand Dunes National Park. While here, you might want to visit a ghost town or an old mine, as well as partaking in a Jeep and/or ATV tour/rentals, horseback riding, hiking, and biking. And there is always a white-water rafting trip waiting for you! Our nearby winter time sports include skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. There is something for all seasons; even big game and small game hunting.

Right off the highway so some noise. Some seasonal people were here but we did t see many people even if spots were full. River behind camp is beautiful train runs in other side of river. Not really close to town so get provisions ahead of time we like green campgrounds and this one was pretty much red dirt like the area so I gave it a 4 star rating. The new owners are super nice and helpful. Come out to help you get set up WiFi was good. We decided to leave early and they gave us a refund would like to patronize them again because they were so nice the view across the highway is beautiful and walking along the river was nice too stayed in August 2018

20 minutes from Salida and along the Arkansas River. The staff was super friendly. They had a playground and a small beach area for the kiddos! Sites were level and I didn’t feel crowded. The Arkansas River was a few hundred yards from our camper and I fished every morning. The pool wasn’t open but they said it will be open in July.
Wi-fi wasn’t the best, but who cares!! There is a train track across the river but I never heard or saw a train come by. Definitely will be visiting again!!

Mostly nice, there were a few junky areas but bathrooms, etc were spotless. River is nice and a frequent visitor told me that they often see bighorn sheep on the other side of the river. We weren’t lucky enough to see them this time.

Good for one night. Right on Hwy 50.
Noise isn’t too bad if you keep your windows/doors closed. Lots of trees, but no grass. Walking distance to Arkansas river/ small beach area. Lady in office was very pleasant.

Amazing experience for my husband and I and our two kids. Playground, pool, laundry, shower, bathrooms. We tent camped by the Arkansas River. Friendly folks down there.
