“trails for biking and hiking”
Cleburne State Park mountain bike trails offer 5.5 miles of beautiful scenery with a variety of challenges for all experience levels. The terrain on the trail is as diverse as the hills. You will experience treacherous downhills, fast smooth flats, and everything in between. The technical and wooded trails form an entire loop that has made this trail a favorite for mountain bikers in training or those who enjoy a challenging ride. The trail will test your skills and endurance and is well worth your time! Fishing and boating the clear blue waters of Cedar Lake is a wonderful way to spend the day with your family. Note: Boats may not create any wake on this lake and personal watercraft (i.e. jet skis, seadoos, etc.) are not allowed. Currently no ice, groceries, food or camping supplies are available within the park. The park has a variety of campsites, including full hook-up sites, a Primitive Area for youth groups, and screened shelters. Group facilities include, a Group Camp with a dining hall and 2-barracks that can hold up to 48-people overnight, and the new "Cedar Lodge" group hall with an attached kitchen, outdoor fireplace and a recreation area.

Was my first visit and I immediately fell in love with the spacious sites in the Poplar Loop. Our site had a beautiful view, great shade, and easy access to the lake. Hiked the Coyote Trail, White Tail Trail, and a little of the Fossil Ridge Trail. Tried to rent a double kayak but solar powered vending machine wasn’t working. Will try again next trip! Only downside is the “background noise” from the nearby lime plant. Guess I got used to it because it wasn’t too distracting.

First stay we were right in the lake. The noise from the lime company is obnoxious but it didn’t ruin the visit. Second stay in space 22. Great spot, really shady and lots of surrounding space even though we are on the road. Park staff is super friendly and helpful. The park is clean. My favorite hiking spot so far! AT&T 1 bar LTE but I was still able to stream Netflix and Sling TV all weekend using my phone’s internet.
I would definitely recommend this park for day trips or overnight!

The spaces were very roomy. Popular point has a little cell phone service. North Creek loop had almost no cell phone service. The swimming area was not crowded at all.

My first solo trip with my new travel trailer and it was pretty good. The site has a very uneven hard surface pad with a slight drop off to the dirt and grass where there was a nice picnic table with a lantern stand near it and then a fire pit with a flip up grate over it beyond that. Not open to the lake, but still a nice view, and lots of trees around. Very quiet campground. Friendly people; I met all my neighbors, which I loved. Sprint cell phone coverage ranged from LTE to None, with it being more toward none or 3G mostly.

This is a good state park for a fun little getaway from the city or for a short stay while en route to another destination. We stayed here one night in our travel trailer at the beginning of a long road trip. The grounds are immaculately kept and the rest rooms in the RV campground were very clean. There are hiking (nothing spectacular) and biking trails and a nice little swimming spot with a grassy area for sunning or picnicking. To light sleepers, a problem may be early morning truck noise from a nearby quarry but this did not bother us at all. Another small problem was the opening to the sewer drain was up pretty high off the ground in relation to our rig so we had to improvise a bit to get our black tank to drain properly. It worked out OK and we were here just 1 night anyway. Yes, I would stay here again if passing through this part of the state.

We were touring and this was a good park, quiet and clean but a bit to far to Dallas/ Fort Worth.
We used our Texas pass for the cheap price

We stayed in the Keyhole area on a Thursday, and had the entire area to ourselves until dusk, when one other camper arrived. We chose this area of the park because it's the furthest away from the noisy lime plant near the park entrance. It was pretty quiet there: we could just barely hear the lime plant when outside, couldn't hear it all when inside our trailer. (We camped here in a tent once, and had a hard time sleeping due to the noise from the plant.)
We paid $20 for a site with water and 30 amp service; this is a discounted rate with the Texas Parks pass. Several areas of the park have full hookups.
Overall, it's a pleasant, clean, well-run little park, heavily forested with cedar trees. A nice place to escape the urban sprawl of the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

This is a beautiful state park with lots of hiking trails and a lovely small lake. But if you come with your rv, be prepared to undertake significant leveling at most sites, particularly side to side. I would suggest avoiding the Keyhole campsites altogether.
