“Play in a treehouse!”
Accessible from Mt. Airy and Westwood, Mt. Airy Forest's 1,459 acres includes miles of hiking trails and bridle trails (located off Diehl Road) for horseback riders. Mt. Airy has Ohio's only wheelchair accessible public treehouse, an enclosed dog park, and disc golf. Mt. Airy Arboretum's specialty gardens, gazebos and picturesque lake are a favorite wedding site. Mt. Airy has two forest lodges and three picnic areas that can be reserved, as well as two council areas for organized youth group overnight camping. Or just come for a picnic at one of 23 picnic areas within the park, complete with tables, charcoal grills, and swing sets.
Mt. Airy park is pretty cool. Depending on where you park, the area might look a little small, but there is an extensive trail system within the park. It's dog friendly, too.
way bigger than central park, mt airy is one of the most badass urban forest/parks you will find! tons of trails, fields, picnic areas await your sunday funday!
A great hiking and picnic spot a few minutes from downtown Cincinnati with a number of moss covered, bird filled trails. The treehouse also makes for a great photo op. Be sure to bring up a map on your phone before you go because the various trails loop around and can get confusing.
One of my favorite hiking spots around Cincinnati. The moss in the trees and the number of birds reminds me of Portland. The treehouse is a minor feature but if you take the trail that runs underneath it - it's a great Sunday hike!
Lovely spot to come for a picnic and a hike. Loads of open space, gazebos, picnic sites and grills. Lots of trails to hike around in the woods.
Mt. Airy is technically the largest municipal park in the United States. There is a lot to do here. Hiking, picnic areas, frisbee golf, dog parks, a tree house(?) and probably lots more I haven't seen yet.
