“Heavenly neon burger dive”
Terry's Turf Club is a road trip classic. Amazing burgers and great retro decor. Stuffed to the rafters with old neon lights. Peanut shells all over the floor. The way it should be! This funky East End burger joint earns kudos for its fantastic patties accessorized with unusual toppings and washed down with a great beer selection; the kitschy decor includes neon on the walls and peanuts on the floor, while the atmosphere tends toward crowded and noisy. If you're in Cincinnati and looking for a great atmosphere and huge burgers, this is your place. The inside is pretty small, so its worth showing up a bit early just in case you have to wait for a bit. On the plus side there's plenty to look at.. tons of awesome neon signs line the building both inside and out, a scene worth seeing in and of itself.
The atmosphere is different, but not worth it alone to visit in my opinion. The burgers are delicious though, just really freaking huge. Be prepared to use your grubby fingers or a fork to finish your meal.
So. Much. Food. Come hungry because you're going to leave more full than you've ever been in your entire life. The vibe is a perfect mix between local gem and retro dive diner, and yes you get to toss your peanut shells on the ground so don't feel bad and go for it. If you're in Cincy it's definitely worth visiting, and like Chelsea I highly recommend the portabella bun!
Assuming in ready to eat up, Terry's is my favorite burger spot in Cincy. Get the grilled haloumi cheese on top of your burger, the egg appetizer, and for all those avoiding gluten, you can have a portabella bun!
Burgers are huge and everything is of a really high quality, so if you're looking for a good, huge burger this is your place. Keep in mind, though, that with that quality comes a price, and it can get expensive if you keep adding toppings (but you'll want to anyway). Ask for extra napkins.
Terry's was awesome!! I had my first experience the other night and will definitely be back. The atmosphere is unique being rather small, communal tables, random shit on the walls, and friendly service. They serve peanuts at the table (for free) and all sandwiches are made to order with a plethora of topping options. I got a beef burger with bacon, special sauce, and a side of fries + beer. I thought the burger was immaculate, fries well cooked, but price a bit steep. Each topping is $2-4 with a base around $8.50. It can get pricey. Will be back for sure though!
Love Terry's Turf Club! Mainly for it's atmosphere, the ultimate retro burger dive! Personally I don't actually think the burgers are all that, I mean the quality is extremely high, but a layer of flavor seems to be missing every time. Anyway, I am always up for visiting as everything else is awesome and it's always a good time..
Oh, also there is usually great live jazz and funk on the weekends. Be prepared for an up to 30 minute wait at peak times on the weekends. Decent beer selection too!
First and foremost all about the unique atmosphere and friendly staff. The burgers are good though I wouldn't necessarily say they're "out of this world" but Terry's is worth a visit for sure.
Great burgers and a really fun, unique atmosphere with neon signs and an eclectic design. No where else like it is Cincinnati!
went there during lunch and we didn't wait long at all. love love love the burgers!
