“quality breads and pastries”
Shadeau Breads is the top name in quality breads and pastries in the city of Cincinnati. Many restaurants serve our bread and baked goods. We are friendly and willing to chat you up to decide which is the right bread for your occasion. Grab an extra loaf of multi–grain Sandwich bread, a slice of pound cake and a bearclaw! We also serve French Sumatra coffee. During the weekdays, sandwiches and soup are available on a limited basis. Saturdays and holidays business shifts into high gear and there is often a line snaking out the door. Bill recommends to the walk–in customer to either come early or place an order. Product left at the end of the day is generally shipped off to soup kitchens so the supply is expected to be scanty by day’s end.
Love the team at shadeau. They are great people and make great bread. On Thursday and Fridays, they serve bagels that are reasonably sized and delicious. Also, I highly recommend the cheese croissant.
Shadeu is great, they generally sell out of a lot by early afternoon but everything I've gotten from them is delicious and fresh. They have good salty and savory stuff to pick up for a quick breakfast as well as all the traditional stuff you'd expect to find at a bakery.
A very solid local bakery, having served the Main St. and wider OTR community for many years. They have a relatively large selection of breads for a small neighborhood bakery and I would say they emphasize long term detail and quality rather than culinary trends. A good thing. Shadeau is my favorite bakery in town.
Best fresh bread in the city hands down, no competition. The crusty french loaf is by far my favorite. Make sure you visit early in the morning though because if you wait until lunch all the good stuff will be gone. Trust me it's worth making an early morning trek to grab a loaf that was literally made an hour before you pick it up!
Absolutely fantastic bakery. They've got a great selection, a friendly staff, and the bread tastes phenomenal. Your best bet is to hit this place early (I always stop through on my way to work in the morning), as they're usually wiped out of all the best options before noon.
The perfect place to stop in for a morning currant scone. They are delicious and made on premise.
