Lake Mills Park

Due to a couple of trees growing close together, no RV’s are allowed. You could get in with a van. You must have a reservation which you can make on line at least 3 days in advance or at the county park headquarter in person the day of arrival. There were about a dozen spots but never more than a quarter full. Sadly the facility is not kept clean. Trash cans were never emptied. Even though someone came to clean the restrooms, they were only there about 10 mins to clean both restrooms. Needless to say the job left a lot to be desired. Nevertheless, the showers were functional and warm. The highway is near by so there is road noise. A higher numbered site might have been quieter. The campground is locked at night (Code provided with reservation) and we saw security come through frequently during the day. Lake Mills Park itself has a lot to offer: an exercise track, playground, picnic area, amphitheater and of course the lake...boat launch for canoes and kayaks only.
Our favorite part was the enchanted forest feel of the area. Even though it was noisy, we would stay here again because of the price and good showers and cell service.
