Wonderful, open community. Visiting is free, but be sure to call ahead for visitor info such as what to wear or cultural norms to be respectful. We arranged a tour for our small group that was free and lead by a friendly docent. They have a visitor center covered with ornate, hand-carved teak; a gift shop with books, incense, etc.; a vegetarian cafe and snack/grocery shop; fountains and beautiful grounds; a museum exhibit about their faith, culture, and building the site; and of course the intricately carved pink stone Mandir Temple with breathtaking white marble interior that was brought piece by pice from India. It is filled with mosaics, carved columns and ceilings, statues of their gods and guru, and pieces of their religious culture. The leaders are open to all types of visitors and very friendly.
10,000 years of Indian culture displayed in the craftsmanship of this mandir. I did not plan on being as impressed with this place as I was. It is a fun place to learn and explore.
