Located on the north edge of the little town of Chimacum, the Evergreen Coho SKP Park provides easy access to Port Hadlock, Port Ludlow, and Port Townsend with Port Angeles, Sequim, and Bremerton about an hour or less away. The park is limited to Escapees members and is listed as a 55+ park although I did see one younger family.

We stayed for a week (pay 6, 7th is free – our price paid reflects the additional tax and the discount.) while we wandered around the area. I really liked the vibe of the place. It was very clean and neat and people were very friendly. As new Escapees we stayed here expressly to consider the value of our SKP membership.

They have a handful of dry spaces ($5 per night and limited to no more than 7 nights per year) and about 25 full hook-up spaces (all pull-thru) that are used for shorter stays. The rest of the lots are large, back-in lots that are the domain of lease-holders. Some of the lease-holder lots are in the rental pool and tend to be used for longer rentals. There is a waiting list for people wanting to become leaseholders. The wide streets are paved, all of the lots are washed gravel. Lots drain well in the rain and there was very little standing water observed in spite of the rain. There are a few trails off to the west side of the park that I didn't get around to exploring and there is a very nice, large off-leash dog area that Turk enjoyed.

The park is optimized for operation by volunteers so things like LP are only available certain hours. The bathrooms in the community building do have showers (2 each) that are free, hot, and kept spotless. The laundry is available on a signup basis – you sign up for the number of machines you need starting at the top of an hour and you will be finished before your time is up. Wash was $1.25 and dry was .50.

There is a wash rack for washing vehicles back by the maintenance building. RVs can be washed in place as long as you’re careful not to waste water.

While there was lots of good things to say about the facility, there were a couple weak points. One is the lack of any privacy features between sites and the other is the weak (2 bars) cell signal for both our AT&T & Verizon phones, at least in the front row. I was able to get a solid 4 bars on the Verizon Mi-Fi with the amplifier and antenna. I’d like to give it 4.5 stars, but without a half star, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. We will definitively stay here again if we’re in the area and they have space available.

John & BJ's review pretty much sums up our experience here. If you are a member of Escapees RV Club this is a great place to stay near Port Townsend. The temporary sites are a little close together but if you stay longer than a week you can get one of the big sites from their rental pool. Lots to do in the area so we will probably stay longer next time and explore more of the area.

We normally (after 4.5 years full timing) tend to avoid private parks. But, if all of them were like this, that would change. What a wonderful place.
We had driven across the country from FL with the intention of heading into Canada. With no timeline in mind I had been making reservations as we went along. We use Boondockers Welcome a lot and I'd made reservations at a place on Fox Island and nothing after that without noticing the date. Yea! I had us leaving on July 3rd with NO reservations anywhere. Yikes. I scrambled. And that's how I found Evergreen Coho. They would not have a HU site available for 3 days but they have a dry camping area which we could use for $7.50/night so I made reservation for that. Our Fox Island hosts allowed us to stay an extra day so we arrived on July 4. We ended up staying only 1 night in the dry camping because the next day when the office reopened after the holiday there was a site available. The area for transient RVers is simply a large lot with rigs lined up on a very level. surface with E/W. There is a dump as you enter/exit that is kept locked so get the key from the office. There's enough space between sites but no greenery or anything so it's not private. But, in a place that seemed to be populated exclusively by friendly, helpful people that was not an issue. From help with the showers to the laundry room (where there is a sign up system that works!) to simply walking around we had such a great time and met so many wonderful people. The clubhouse is huge and nice, the owners sites are all well kept and beautiful with many park models. There are a number of gardens throughout and the place is surrounded by woodlands where there are some trails. You're 1/2 hour from Port Townsend where you can get all your shopping down, a varied amount of time from sites on the Olympic Peninsula and should you want to take an overnight trip to Victoria (from Port Angeles) it's not a problem. The drive there is beautiful regardless which route you take but it's the people and the campground that make this place worth a visit (and an Escapees membership.)
Oh, internet reception isn't great though boosted we got 3-4 bars.

Great park. We were in the short time section on the side of the park. The only complaint we had was your front door faces the next rig. There is no picnic tables. Itnis in a good location for sightseeing. Decent food close by as well. Only a few miles from QFC grocery store. We paid $219.00 for 7 nights. Plenty of room for large rigs. Verizon speed was about 10mb up. But can be slower at times.
