clean and lovely with a creek, picnic tables, and fire rings, pit toilet. lots of mozzies in July.

don't take the forest service route, enter off Boundary Rd as google suggests. RV's have some pull through options.

We arrived on Sunday 9/9 and found the campground to be empty. I had been concerned that it would be full of hunting campers, but no. On Monday, we saw one person ride by on an ATV and then late Monday night some other campers arrived but left the next day due to car trouble.

We have a Ram 2500 towing a Reflection 320MKS 5th wheel, so overall we’re about 53 feet. The trailer is about 36 feet long. We fit, but we were definitely encroaching onto a second campsite. If there had been other people there, we probably would have looked for somewhere else just so we weren’t taking up too much space.

The road leading into the campground is about 6 miles of dirt roads, with a small stretch being very skinny to the point that the tips of branches were brushing up against the trailer. No scratches were left, but it just confirms the fact that we were pushin it size wise.

The campground has 6 sites that are definitely intended for tents. There are two clusters of 3 picnic tables and fire pits. We backed into the first space running parallel to the stumps boarding the parking area (if fairly certain you are supposed to park nose in). There is a vault toilet and tent camper dishwater drain between the two clusters. Scott Crewk runs along the back side of the camping spaces.

No mosquitoes when we were there. Super dark at night. Was pretty cold at night, lowest was 34 F. We had hoped to use it as a base camp for visiting Crater Lake. It was a great camp, but not one I would use again if my intent was to visit Crater Lake on multiple days.

Cell service was really frustrating- it’s one thing to be in a no service space. You just leave your phone alone. For us, the Verizon coverage bounced around from 1 bar of LTE, 2 bars 3G, 1 bar 1x... and this was even with two devices sitting right next to each other getting different signals. It was just enough coverage for us to keep going to our phones only to have things fail.

Great camping area if you are adventurous. Google maps got us here pretty well, but look at the campgrounds from an aerial view too. If you have a big rig, you should scout it out beforehand. Lots of trees encroaching and some rutted roads. If in a bigger rig ONLY DO THIS IF NO RAIN IS IN THE FORECAST (the roads would be hell to drive in muddy conditions).

A lot of hunters us this camping area, however, we only had one other couple in the 4X4 van that shared the camping area with us.

A black bear visited us in the middle of the night but just sniffed and walked on by.

Great bathrooms and fire pits. Very relaxing place to stay. I'm sure it's rarely if ever crowded.

We used this spot to boondock and leave our RV during the day and take our Prius to Crater Lake (45 min drive) to hike some great places.

I arrived close to dark, and the trail in was challenging. You should not try this with rain unless you have 4 wheel drive. The path is tight in spots, and some is just dirt. The campground is very quiet.
