“Longest miniature railroad”
Train Mountain Railroad Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of our railroad heritage. It is located in Southern Oregon on over 2000 acres of Ponderosa Pine forest in Klamath County, the home of Crater Lake National Park. Train Mountain currently has 69,900 feet (13¼ miles) of 7½″ gauge mainline track and 133,250 feet (25¼ miles) of total trackage, which includes yards, sidings, and connector tracks. In the 2004 Guinness World Records™ Train Mountain is recognized as the “Longest Miniature Hobby Railroad”. We also have a great selection of train gifts, toys, novelties, home decor and clothing. We feature train puzzles and games, jewelry, ornaments, train pedal cars, 7 1/2″ train and track supplies.
Contrary to the August 31, 2018 review, to all appearances Train Mountain is very much a going concern.
Indulge your inner little boy by spending and hour or so wandering around the grounds. For the time being it is free, but if they charged a nominal admission it would still be worth the stop. This is a great place to take your grandchildren and spend an afternoon riding trains!
We stopped by this hidden gem on our way to Bend Or. There is no signage on US 97 directing you to this place, so you will have to plan your route. There are two independent train parks directly adjacent to each other, so it can be a bit confusing at first.
It is well worth the stop! Enjoy
I absolutely loved this place. It was extremely fun and free, we just paid a donation to go on a ride and it was a pretty long ride with cute little miniatures and funny things along the way. I would go again and I went without a child! :)
