“sprawling across the rolling High Plains grasslands”
Settle in at this KOA sprawling across the rolling High Plains on the Front Range of the Rockies. Mosey into Cheyenne, "The Magic City of the Plains," to explore a legendary cow town and Wyoming's capital city. Browse the Frontier Days Old West Museum or stop at Holliday Park to see Old Number 4004, one of the world's largest railroad steam engines. Take a tour of the city and discover Cheyenne's colorful history as a railroad and cowpoke town. "Live the Legend" as Cheyenne celebrates its history with a Western celebration in July that is known as the world's largest outdoor rodeo (the "daddy of 'em all"). Nearby, you can fish at two reservoirs or hike, climb and see the wonderful rock formations in Medicine Bow National Forest. Then return to your KOA retreat for a swim, mini golf and a blissful night under the Western stars. Pool: Memorial Weekend - Labor Day Weekend. Max pull thru: 85 feet. Your hosts: Jim and Rhonda Nelson, managers.
Nice little KOA just off of the interstate. The facilities were very clean and the people friendly. Each tent site has a wind barrier which you will need. It got VERY windy at night. The campground also has a really nice covered shared outdoor cooking space with 8 stove burners, a microwave, picnic tables, and plenty of electric outlets. I was very impressed.
Easy access on/off I-80, easy to spot from interstate. Pilot station 1/4 mile away going to/from park. Clean crushed rock sites, several shade trees but many without shade. Easy pull through with plenty of room to navigate. Facilities are modern and very clean. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Major shopping/dining within 10 miles with I-80 or backroad (read ‘GPS’) access. WiFi worked well at outer fringe of park...
This KOA is off the highway and easy to get to. It’s really clean and has a small common kitchen area to prep meals. Has a pool, park and mini golf for kids to play. If you need some where to set up a tent and rest your head, I would highly recommend this place.
No longer a KOA, it is now RJourney, but it was just as charming. The front desk worker was very helpful and sweet, and there are so many activities to do, I wish we could stay longer than a night. Facilities are very clean, which is always a bonus!
We really liked this spot. RV spots are a little tight but pretty level on the gravel. There were no fire rings and absolutely no shade. Amenities were very clean. The staff was very friendly. The store was stocked with plenty of necessities. Playground was great for the kids. The mini-golf was small but the kids loved playing. Pool was also clean but a little on the smaller side. Overall, perfect for an overnight stay.
See.
Great site. Amazing bathrooms, showers separated, gravel for tent sites. Just off I80 and can hear traffic at night. Dog park gate needed fixing, 100 pound pushed open the gate.
