We are on our way from Sioux Falls to Rapid City. We wanted to stop in Chamberlain to visit the Akta Lakota museum and when I saw this on Campendium, it seemed perfect. Right on the Missouri river, large trees, and grass in all the sites. Very well maintained and there is a nice park with a sandy beach. Fishing and boat dock, and camping cabins if you need that. Peaceful, that is a big plus.

We needed someplace to stay for one night. We've always enjoyed corp of engineers campgrounds. We've actually stayed at Left Tailrace not to far from this one before.
This campground is run by an outside company. $40 got us water and electricity. There was also a picnic table and a fire pit sunken into the ground. The electricity shut off mid morning but we were packing up to leave.
There is a dump behind the office. Be very careful as there are obstacles as you pull out of the dump area. Bathrooms are dated.
Not a bad park just not worth $40 a night.

Due to its location, right on the Missouri river, this campground is very popular in the summer. It is also right on the river and prone to flooding. When we visited, it had been raining for a month and there was standing water everywhere. It is located in a small, rural town but a convenient stop if you're passing from the Black Hills or the Bad Lands, heading east.
The main reason we stopped here was to view the 50' tall metal sculpture, Dignity. Its right on the highway and well worth the visit. Learn more about her here: www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/54836

This is a great spot along the river I would describe as nice and simple, not fancy, but comfortable. It is very tight to maneuver my 45’ Prevost with TOAD, but it was barely manageable. I arrived at sunset and the signage is basically non existent, so it was very challenging to find my spot in the dark, so you’ll need someone to scout ahead and direct you in. Other than that, it’s very comfortable, but the spots are very close together. It wasn’t busy when we were here, so it was very nice.

Nice campground with water and electric. Dump station on site. Level spots. Gorgeous river views and peeks even from interior. Clean. Hosts were very nice. Streets were a little narrow for our 34' MH with tow but manageable. About 2.5 hours from badlands NP.

We got lucky and got a great spot, ideal for smaller rigs. It was right on the water and there’s plenty of others overlooking the lake. Campground has a dog friendly beach and a beautiful walking path along the water! Would highly recommend as a spot on your way to your next destination! (We didn’t use any public facilities so I can’t attest to those.)

Easy to find. Quiet, roads were a little tight. Pull through sites we’re spread out a little more than typical. Some very nice back in sites with a river view. I could see spending a few days here.

Walked around the campground after setting up and enjoyed the views. The campground and bathrooms are clean. It's also a part of a public park which has a beach, playground, 2 sand volleyball courts and picnic Gazebo. It's clear that they've had vandalism because there are signs saying that. We had a nice quiet stay on a Friday night, all a positive experience. I'm giving 4 stars due to an odd shower area in the main bathroom in which you have to walk through one shower area to get to the 2nd. The pull through site was level, site 3, but we had to use 2 sewer hoses to reach the sewer hook up.
