Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on August 04, 2020We left Albuquerque after getting our truck repaired and headed up to Chama, NM. Chama is a quaint little town with a lot of amazing history!
We chose to stay at Sky Mountain as it had sites right on the Chama River. The owners are really super nice and as the river sites are designed to be pulled into (versus backing in) they got us an extension cord for our power cord. So worth all the extra effort to get into this site as the river was beautiful!
The park has nice trees and most sites have fire pits. They have nice laundry facilities as well. All the sites are able to accommodate big rigs.
There are a couple of other RV parks in the area but they don't compare at all to Sky Mountain. Highly recommended.
There is tons to see and do in Chama, NM and we loved it so much we bought property there! :)

We were looking for a stop on the way back home (TX). We have driven by this place many times and liked the area. The park was great. It was the perfect atmosphere. The kids got to play in the river. The temps are perfect for summer. They had great OTA channels. I had limited use on the WiFi, but it worked great. We were in a pull through site away from the river, but it was very close. I would love to come back and stay closer to the river. Very peaceful and friendly. ATT and Verizon worked well. The bathrooms were closed due to COVID, so I can't comment on those.
Try the Elk Horn Cafe just a short walk.

The park is exceptionally clean and quiet. Lots of shade trees for the sites on the back end of the park. Owners and operators are the nicest folks you’ll ever run into. We’ve found are spot to camp when in the Chama neighborhood. I highly recommend this place for both families and retirees.

Great hosts and staff. I don’t think there is a bad site. Got to know most of the people staying there. We will be going back in August.
