The Madrid Old Coal Town Museum is a ongoing preservation project saving it from its industrial and ghost town past. Most often we provide a brief tour by a local tour guide. After that you can walk around on your own through a few barn buildings and outside places. The exhibition is pretty much a collection of historical artifacts that have not been cleaned up or restored and have minimal descriptions. A video explains about the Christmas light tradition in the old days. The highlight of the museum is the Engine 769, with it's nose almost inside the Engine House Theatre.
