“texas's winter garden”
Catarina is a census-designated place (CDP) in Dimmit County, Texas, United States. The population was 118 at the 2010 census. The community has no U.S. Post Office. It was a boom-and-bust town, growing in popularity during the early 20th century thanks to the abundant supply of water for growing crops. It all came crashing down in the 1930s when the Dust Bowl hit and the water dried up. The town has never been the same since.
