Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on July 19, 2019This was a great place to camp for 3 days. Not too busy. Right next to water. Wildlife. Some people. But not too many. It was July 13-16. Very warm during the weekend. 88-94 degrees and 2 days there was a nice breeze Don’t miss the boat ramp/camping like i did Had to turn my 36ft 5th wheel around on a small driveway on a basically a one way road. That was awful. So don’t miss the road to the ramp like i did

Stayed on a Sunday July 1st, 2019. The lake was beautiful. There were lots of fish jumping. Note - look at the photos that were already posted. The campsites are basically right in the parking lot, so not much privacy. This might not be an issue if you are in a trailer or motorhome, just be aware of this. When we got there were a lot of fisherman there. They all left as evening set. There was only one other camper there. The road in was graded and in nice condition. Watch for wild turkeys as you drive in or out. We had a Momma with her babies crossing the road on our way out. No cell coverage.

Stayed 7/19/2019-7/23/2019. I have a 27’ 5th wheel RV. Site was good for my setup, can accommodate much larger. Sites are close together, however not many...<15 sites?? (Didn’t count). Site shares a boat launch so there is daytime fishing traffic, however minimal during my stay. Beautiful view, quiet site. No dust, road to site entrance is good dirt road - site itself is paved. Close to Coeur d’Alene (~30min drive). Site itself was very well maintained, however lots of litter - I blame the previous occupants, not the management. As I always do, I left my site completely litter free (both my mess & the previous A-hole occupant). Leave it better than you found it!!

What were the BLM people thinking, or are they? We pulled into a narrow strip of pavement on Thursday and had lunch while we tried to figured out the best way to turn our rig around in this alley Campground. We finally decided on backing the rig down the boat ramp and turning around that way. Had we made that decision 30 minutes later, we would have been wondering what we were going to do about turning the rig around until Monday.
This place was slam packed with people from Thursday right thru Monday morning when someone came in at 5am and we beat feet before it started all over again. Fishing boats, pontoon boats, paddle boards, kayaks, inflatables, ski-doos, people just out for a picnic for the day and all the camping spots got filled as a parking lot for free. And I mean double parked filled.
Frankly, it was great to share in the experience. Seeing and hearing all the kids and parents having such great time making memories. It was just a shame we couldn't even choose to leave at that point, even just the truck. We never would have got back in for the trailer. They were parking cars on the dirt road leading to the campground it was so packed. And a shout out to the locals. I heard not one complaint and all trash got handled.
BLM is trying to do too much with this narrow piece of property. It should be day use for a small fee without the camping or at least a lot less camping spaces, with a size restriction, like under 25' or a tent.
