This place is on private property. Listing for informational purposes only. Please do not visit without express permission from the land owner. Beautiful Lookout behind Pen-Mar Park. This launch pad was created by lovers of hang-gliding, however, has been labeled as not safe enough for an official launch pad for those who like flying. Unfortunate? Yes. Worth a visit? Definitely.
I live right by High Rock and visit frequently. The view is totally worth a stop. Pass by Pen Mar park (also a great place to explore and hike the AT) and go the the top of the road. Dead end is the parking lot. Expect high winds and lots of graffiti! And I think people still do use it to hang-glide...
