“The eerie inspiration for many Arizona legends”
Just outside of Casa Grande you’ll find one of the stranger abandoned places in America, The Domes. Built for a specific purpose and then abandoned before ever being used, they’re thought to be haunted by a shadowy figure and rumors of occult activity at the site continue to spread. It all started in July of 1982 when an electronics manufacturer’s owner, Patricia Zebb, announced a plan to move the company, InnerConn Technology, from California to a new headquarters in Casa Grande, AZ she named, “The Domes." Zebb had the buildings designed in the strange dome shape to cut costs and provide good protection from temperature changes, and the whole thing only took 6 weeks to build by pouring concrete over a steel skeleton and inflated balloons. Despite the cheap and speedy construction, InnerConn would never move into the Domes. The company went belly-up and the domes were abandoned, and although purchased in 2006, they still sit vacant today. The decades of vacancy have given the Domes quite the reputation… Their UFO-like shape brings out all sorts of supernatural enthusiasts, and it didn’t take long for visitors to start reporting the place as being haunted. According to the Arizona Republic, people report seeing shadowy figures, hearing whispers, and even the sounds of children screaming. Others report weird vibrations, tapping noises on cars and uneasy feelings. Scarier than the thought of some shadowy figure is the rumor of occult activities taking place here. Sure, a ghost is scary, but a group of loonies sacrificing an animal is a helluva lot scarier. Truth be told, the Domes are like most abandoned places. The creepy story you tell yourself on the way to the place will dictate the level of uneasiness you feel while there. Stopping by the Domes at night may put you face-to-face with a Satanic cult, but more likely just a bunch of teenagers looking for a place to get drunk. Truth be told again, we’d rather not run into either of those groups. Drunk teenagers are the worst. - Roadtrippers
These are pretty cool but don't use the address on here in google maps to find them, it'll take you to a crazy back-road that is really just a trail. Use the coordinates or 'directions' link in the road tripper's app. It's pretty close to the 8 and can actually be seen from the highway.

The route that worked best for my sister and me: Take I-8 to exit 172 (Thornton Rd). Go South on Thornton to road to The Domes.
Cool place for a photographer, but it definitely has a creepy vibe. Don't trust your GPS
Tried to get here the other day, I didnt see the comments below, I missed the turn at Battagla Dr and it directed us down an unmaintained dirt road with deep ruts, even dry it was really tough in my truck, so we turned around and decided to go back another day.
Demolished as of January 2023.
Cool and unique place to see. But BEWARE! Don't Trespass! The owners of the property live nearby Took our license plate number while we were there and called the Sherriff. We were met by 2 deputies on our way out. We got out of the trespassing charge because we're from out of state and old enough to convince them we weren't doing any damage. If you go, just be careful!!!
Interesting place to see. But BEWARE! Don't Trespass! The owners of the property live nearby. They came over while we were there, took our license plate number and called the sherriff. We were met by 2 deputies on the way out. I think if we hadn't been old and from out of state, they may have charged us for tresspassing.
The domes are on s Thornton 1 mile south of i 8, just past hanna on the left
I drove down yesterday. Easy to find. Just go south of I-8 on Thornton Road. Very strange site. Saw Elvis.
