Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on October 29, 2023We stayed here on the way to and from MI - NC. The park was clean and well cared for with trash cans close by nearly every site. I don't think more than hour went by that the park staff didn't drive by on the way to clean something or otherwise maintain the park.
Most of the sites were well spaced and easily accessible. The only reason I didn't give five stars for site quality is because we unfortunately picked two of the worst sites.
The first night our site had a culvert close to the site which made it tough to back in. Being newbies we finally had to give up and ask for a different site. Fortunately, they were very helpful and let us switch.
The second visit our site was on what appeared to be a pull through but was actually three separate sites on a small side loop. The entrance to the site was totally facing the wrong way considering the direction of the one way road. Additionally, the water was on the opposite side of the trailer for the electric.
We solved this by driving the wrong way on the access road and backing in. And fortunately I had enough water hose to be able to reach by running it under my trailer. Again we were fortunate that the park wasn't packed and it wasn't an issue.
Walking around the park and looking at the other sites I would definitely come back, I would just be more care about which sites I would use. All of the site seemed fairly level for our 30' TT.

we stayed here for 3 nites. real nice park, didn't like the 1st spot we picked out but called the ranger and was no problem changing it. t, real nice restrooms/showers, trash cans a plenty, rangers always driving around, the only thing i didn't like was most of the sites are far from being level. you stand back and look at our rig and you thing my 5th wheel is doing a wheelie, lol, just joking not that bad but they are not level. but awesome park, lots to see in the area, we will come back here again. the only reason i put 3 stars on site quality is they are not close to being level

Stayed at site 27 which is right next to the water. We had plenty of birds to watch. Only stayed 2 nights as we were traveling south. Very close to highway.

This park was nice. We had it mostly to ourselves as it was off season. Site 27 was great and right on the water. If you’re looking for some place near Knoxville, without being too far out in the woods, then this is an excellent choice. Warning... they do have the water shut off in the winter.

My site wasn’t level and where I was camped only got 2 bars of Verizon LTE. The park was full as I camped over the weekend and really enjoyed the festive type atmosphere. The showers were well kept and hot water was abundant. The park was kept up very nicely and although the sites were relatively close to each other my stay was relaxing.

Cove Lake State Campground is a pretty and quiet campground. We stayed overnight on site 63 and had family members staying in campsite 65. Site 65’s picnic table was actually behind our site (63), which was a bit odd. These sites were spacious and near the water, but they were muddy as it had just rained before arrival and this required thorough wiping of dog paws.
We traveled in a 31 ft motorhome.
Site 63 and 65 are lovely sites with a gorgeous water view. Beware of mud or flooding due to recent rain

We stopped here for an overnight during Father’s Day weekend. Lots of families out celebrating dads. The sites are pretty tight and privacy isnt really possible, at least in our loop. Many campers had more cars than allowed and tents piled into one site.
Bathhouse was clean and in great shape in Loop C. Trash cans were plenty. Camp store was well stocked.
The lake and mountains here are stunning and almost worth the tight campground.
Internet was really spotty. We had 4 bars and LTE on Verizon, however, at night we couldn’t get anything to load on our phones. Morning was a little better but I wouldn’t work from here as a digital nomad unless the campground wasn’t full.

We had a wonderful stay in this state park, which features, lush, green, rolling hills along Cove Lake, with mountains in the background. Sites have water and electricity. There is a dump station. You can recycle glass and aluminum here. Sites are situated along 3 loops each with a center, 'park-like' space that provides privacy to the sites and a place to walk the dog. Quiet, and we had an amazing view out of every window; it felt very private. Be aware that some of the sites have a fairly steep slope once you step off the site pad. I got a wonderful 3 mile run on the paths through the park. There are tennis courts a pool (not in use) and a restaurant (closed), and just the most lovely park setting you can imagine. Geese lined the paths to the lake. The only "ding" I would give this place is the bathrooms, which were run down and not very clean. However, that could be because we visited on a busy weekend in July. Also be aware that although the cell coverage was pretty good (Verizon), the internet speed on our hotspot was very slow; the campground does not have wifi.

Great Tennessee Campground. It was crowded when we arrived and it looks like it is a weekend getaway for many locals. Parking got a little crazy over the weekend but it did not affect us. Our spot looked difficult, but it really was easy to get into and we had so much space around us. Don't get fooled by the "Lake". It was pretty stagnant and not much that you can actually do on it. Close to towns so shopping was a breeze and lots of places to walk. Just be ready for some hills. If we needed to be in the area again, we would stay here.
