We had trouble figuring out the reservations so just drove in to see if we could find a spot we liked. Plenty of open spots, when we parked the caretaker came by and explained the reservation website to us and let us know which sites were open and for how many days. Check out isnt until 4pm! Only the vault toilets were available during our stay, no showers or water at the site but I think that had more to do with recent cold weather than anything else. Views were beautiful, picnic table and fire pit at every site and gravel pad. There were also covered picnic tables and a boat launch. Caretaker came and checked to make sure we had a good stay in the morning. Would definitely stay again.

We camp here in June 2021 our site was very nice concrete pad, full hookup and a covered picnic table. Nice view of the lake. Our price reflects our senior discount thru National parks pass.
The bad was the shower/restroom didn’t appear it had been cleaned and just in need of update.
The worst was we observed some campers who left a adult male laying in the sun at 8:00am to 11:30 or more. I went to the guard/entrance shack about 10:00am to report our concern that this person hadn’t move or gotten up in several hours. We were concerned he might need assistance. The woman said she would call park rangers but they never came. At about 11:30 or so the guys friend came back to campsite and got him up. So this could have ended badly. Either the woman didn’t call or park rangers didn’t think someone laying in the sun for hours didn’t deserve attention.
Also forgot poor signage at main road as to which entrance to take. Small sign off road under trees and no signage in park as to we’re to go for specific campsites.

We won’t come back and have camped here forever they didn’t leave shade trees at all it’s all concrete so enjoy your stay as for us long timers we will head north east where there is plenty of shade and access from each campsite to the lake not over populated well worth the drive for all that we get there! Happy camping to the concrete cowboys!

Wish we could’ve stayed longer this was a great campsite right on the lake. AT&T signal three or four bars good enough to stream and do zoom. Would have stayed longer but it was going to get very cold and snowy and we did not want to drive on slick roads. We are in a 22 foot pull behind camper very easy access. Water and electricity at the site. In earlier reviews it said the water would be off and only one would be a working frost free water Spicket. But they have changed it so all of them are!

Check in at kiosk for parking tag. Half the park is new, opening summer 23. Site 35 is right on the lake. Winds were bad for several days while we were there. Sites 1-25 are new but don't have sewer. 26-43 are gull hook-up and each site has a paved car slot.
Pros: Sites are level concrete pads and picnic area, covered picnic table, close to Denison TX with restaurants and grocery, some sites are on the lake. Hiking at Eisenhower SP.
Cons: Windy, bathrooms need upgrade.
Great AT&T cell service, all the bars of 5G.
