The name "Carrizo Springs" derives from similarly named springs in the area; the name is Spanish for a type of grass once common in the area. In recent years, Carrizo Springs has experienced a boom of sorts thanks to the Eagle Ford Shale and the drilling/oil production that will be going on for years to come. Our property was built to address the housing needs of both the oil industry, as well as those people simply visiting friends and family in the area. Another large activity that the area is known for is hunting. Every fall, numerous hunters arrive in the area to hunt deer, dove and exotic game that can be found at varous ranches around the area.
