Phallic Rock also commonly known as Cock Rock is a precambrian rock formation in Carefree, Arizona. The formation is caused by spheroidal weathering whereby the composition of the granite and its crystal structure facilitated the development of rounded corners and its unique tubular shape. The formation is at the eastern foot of Black Mountain and can be found approximately 400 feet east of Tom Darlington Drive on Stagecoach Pass Road. The formation is best viewed from the western side looking east. There is a dirt pull-off on the side of Stagecoach Pass Road with enough room for several vehicles.

It's big. You can climb on it. Fun photo op. There is a small parking lot on the west side of the rock. Don't go in the morning, or the sun will be behind you. Best in the afternoon or early evening.
Couldn't get the dog to pose with the rock. It's in a residential area and the best picture might be taken in someone's driveway. Definitely best before sunset, when rocks are usually flaccid anyway.
If you're staying locally why not check out this memorable rock tucked in a residential street. Be creative with your camera and most important have fun with it.

this was so much fun! There is even a little trail behind the rock. Although it was super hot when I went. I would def recommend this photo opp!
This rock formation is smack in the middle of a residential neighborhood. I doubt the people living right around it have any idea this formation has an unofficial name or online status. Made for a fun side excursion & photo opp on a day of seeing "Rocks" (I also stopped at Red Rock Canyon and Bell Rock that day) but only if you truly have the time to wander out of your way for a 5-10 minute stop.
