“Motel & souvenirs in Cameron, AZ”
Nestled along the Little Colorado River Gorge and located just 30 minutes from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park entrance sits the historic Cameron Trading Post Motel. What began as a Grand Canyon area hotel catering to visitors passing through in the early 1900s has become an attraction in and of itself. Our Southwest style rooms are decorated in a Native American art motif indicative of Grand Canyon country. From your room you can enjoy sunset views of the Little Colorado River Gorge or experience the serenity of our gardens in full bloom. If you're looking to see the sites of the Southwest, we are centrally located to the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Canyon De Chelly and Monument Valley. Stay at the Cameron Trading Post Motel and experience not only the nearby attractions, but also the arts and crafts, the people and a culture unlike anywhere else. Stay with us and Discover What We've Spent a Lifetime Learning.
Looked at same day availability via Roadtrippers and it said the hotel here was completely booked. Went on the hotel website and there were vacancies. I stopped trusting Roadtrippers for anything but directions about 300 miles ago. Lovely hotel and nice staff!!
Everything you would ever want to buy for souvenirs is here. Including a pawn shop in the back. Also a really good restaurant with a beautiful view.
The hotel garden is beautiful and it was a convenient location to stay just outside the Grand Canyon. They have a restaurant, gift shop, gas station and convenience store. Easy one stop place to stay! Our room opened to the garden from the front while having the Little Colorado River to the back entrance. Nice stay for the money!
Not really worth the stop, stayed one night before we went to Grand Canyon, but next time will just stay an extra night in Sedona. If you want to have a beer in your hotel room, plan ahead and bring your own. The nearest place to buy alcohol is Grey Mountain down the road. Boring stay, unless you spend your time in gift shop. A positive~pet friendly hotel $15 fee
The area to the east outside of the Grand Canyon can get pretty desolate, so the Cameron Trading Post is a good place to gas up your car or pick up some snacks on your way in or out of the park.
Great food! Super neat store with every kind of souvenir; even sold groceries.
Loved this place! May just seem like “another souvenir shop” but the ladies who work there are very nice and answer any question and engage in good conversation. We went back two days in a row because we loved the stuff. We walked out with a real turquoise ring, bracelet, knife and Navajo blanket. They have a very good selection of jewelry (real and regular jewelry) decor, souvenirs and much more. They have a restaurant in it too and it’s pretty good.
I loved the history here but once you walk inside the store, it's just like any other gift shop selling trinkets in the southwest.
