“The loss of a legend”
Visit the historic site where country music stars Patsy Cline, Cowboy Copas, Hawkshaw Hawkins, and pilot Randy Hughes tragically lost their lives in a plane crash March 5, 1963. A stone monument, located 2.8 miles north of Camden on Mt. Carmel Rd., stands in their honor. A new walkway project has just been completed at the site. This is the first of several improvements planned for the memorial.
Nice memorial and good little walk to stretch your legs. Seemed to be some sort of musical element to it that was partially removed d/t damage. But still nice.
Memorial is still there, but seems to have been improved since the original entry! Great state marker and maybe 45 minutes from Loretta Lynn’s estate in Hurricane Mills, where she has some of Patsy Cline’s personal items collected from the crash site on display. Very sad to lose such a beautiful voice so early in her life.
