Part of our stay at the Calistoga RV and Campground was during 100+ temps and our power tripped off multiple times while we were here. The first time it happened we had left our dog in the trailer. After that, we obviously didn't leave him again.

Twice during our stay they turned off water service without notice. I'm not sure why.

The location is wonderful, we really enjoyed Calistoga and the RV park is within walking distance to downtown.

UPDATE 10/28/2015: We paid $53/night for full-hookups. Didn't have any issues with the power tripping or the water being turned off. I would still give this place 3 stars since it's just a parking lot. The location is still fantastic.

Admittedly, my expectations were low after reading some of the reviews prior to arrival. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised with our experience. We were a short bike ride / walk from the downtown area. There's a farmers market on Saturdays. There were a couple of local wineries north of the campground on the way to the California version of "Old Faithful". We found a fruit stand with free for the taking citrus fruits. If you're into mountain biking, there is a trailhead less than a mile east of the campground taking you to the upper reaches of the local hills. "Old Hill Mine Trail". Of course, there are great road rides along Silverado Trail road. I'd recommend some of the roads that offshoot from the main road for more challenging and scenic terrain.

Upon departure there was a line of three or four people in front of us for the dump station. The manager waved us over and instructed us to use one of the Premium lots to use the integrated sewer hookup. Saved us some time on the way out.

This is not a fancy RV park. It is a clean park with full hook ups in a great location that has some really nice people working there. We loved being able to walk into town for breakfast, wine tasting or the farmers market. Just strolling through the neighborhoods was a nice evening walk too. We decided to stay longer so had to move our site which was no big deal. The staff was very helpful with any questions we had related to the park or area. The full hook up sites in the back by the fence were the best as they had some trees and no one behind you. The price noted above reflects using Passport America on the days they accept it. Be sure to visit the Visitor Center right in town for 2 for 1 wine tasting coupons and great info on the area.

We stayed here on a Thursday night and the park was only about half full. This is basically a parking lot with electric and water. We stayed in site 60 which is on he corner of two streets so there was some road noise. Sites 1-24 have full hook ups and they back up to the golf course so they are quieter. Fires are not allowed and there are no picnic bences at the site so plan to bring chairs and possibly a table. They do have bike racks at each site though. The bath house were clean and the staff were quite friendly. The campground is connected to the fairgounds so our kids we were able to wander a bit on their bikes.
The best thing about this campground is its proximity to the downtown area of calistoga. We walked two bocks to shops and eateries. Check out the sharpstien museum, lots of great local history.
Overall this is a reasonabl priced campground and a good jumping off point for adventure.

Calistoga RV Park itself isn’t anything too special, but it’s in a perfect location, had a very friendly staff, shaded spots, and all the amenities you need. It feels more like a campground with its gravel road and natural landscape, but it was perfectly fine for our stay and cost effective since they accept the Passport America discount.
It’s only a 30-minute drive from Napa but Calistoga offers all the same beauty and great wine but in a more quaint, charming, laid-back town. We loved having our “home-base” here and riding our bikes 5 minutes to downtown, eating ice cream (the Calistoga Creamery had some of the best ice cream we’ve ever had!), grabbing drinks, and just witnessing the adorable close-knit community. But then we could also hop in the car, enjoy a 30-minute scenic drive and be in the famous, upscale, and world-class city of Napa. It was the best of both worlds.

Not the greatest camground of the world but we loved to be hooked up since the temperature was above 105 degres everyday. It cools down in the evening though.

$42 Friday and Saturday, the rest of the week, it is $37. Reasonable considering that the State parks with no service are $35.

Calistoga is a really nice place to stay. Close to everything. I mean 30 minutes. When you are in the Napa, those 30 minutes are just picturesque.

We have been coming to Calistoga for years to take the cure, but this is the first time in our RV. With the recent devasting fires we figured that the best was we could contribute is by supporting the local economy. One of the things we love about Calistoga is that it is a walkable town and this RV Park is within ~0.5 miles walking distance of restaurants, mudbaths/messages, wine tasting and The Stroll to window shop down the mainstreet Lincoln Ave.

The RV Park itself has both standard sites like the one we had with 30 amp, water and code access to the dump station and premium sites backin and pull through with full hookups including 50 amp, water and sewer. They participate in Passport America during the week, but our stay was on a Saturday night so we paid full price of $42 Plus $2 pet fee. This in fact one of the biggest benefits is that it is pet friendly. Calistoga is generally not a pet friendly resort town and our favorite motels do not allow dogs and there are not good boarding options. Big Plus.

There are sycamore trees that provide shade for most of the sites on the north and south perimeter sites. There are abundant trash/recycling spaces regularly spaced throughout. While several blocks off the main drag there were a surprising number of cars and motorcycles that used the adjacent residential streets.

Like others said, this is another fairground RV parking lot. The full hookup portion was pretty much full and the no sewer section had a few units in it. We chatted with a couple of people who had some sort of longer term arrangement while their houses were being rebuilt after the fires.

Downtown was an easy walk, although we drove in for dinner so as not to leave the dog in the trailer. Bosko's Trattoria and Sushi Mambo are both good enough we will eat at them again next time we come through Calistoga.

The campground wifi was surprisingly good. It slowed down in the evening when everyone else wanted on it, but other times it was faster than I have at home.

We normally do not stay in rv parks, but the forecasted freezing temps dictated us to be connected to power. Also in this part of the wine region, choices are limited to this park and the State Park which offers no hook ups or a dump station. Thus, as the only full service rv park (a fairground parking lot with hook ups), prices can be set far higher than the amenities warrant. Full hook ups are $50.00 per night, while water and electric sites are $37.00. There is a dump station.

The only positive comment I can give this park is that the staff is very friendly and accommodating to any of your needs. But they also realized that their park needs a lot of upgrades and maintenance.

There is no cable tv or local channels to be picked up by your rig's antenna. WiFi is very spotty at best, with the strongest signal being from midnight to 6:00 am. Although there are trash and recycle barrels at each site, they were full the entire time we were there. Not once did we see any staff emptying the barrels or picking up trash scattered among the sites. What grass they have between sites has not been taken care of, so it is either overgrown or just dying out. The park has one old concrete shower building, a men's and women's side, offering bathrooms and showers. But they were not clean, littered and toilet paper/paper towel dispensers not filled. Quite dismal.

If we ever have to come back to the St. Helena or the Calistoga area, we probably would leave our rig at home and stay at a hotel with far more amenities and value.

The website is misleading. Shows beautiful photos making you think it’s part of the park. Mostly gravel and what grass they have is unkempt and full of weeds. I would gladly pay more for a better place and think that in a location such as this, the park should be nicer. Also, our tv didn’t pick up any stations at all, which is very unusual.

Thank goodness for iPads and my own WiFi.
