There are 6 first-come sites here with water ($15) & power($25). The sites have a ramada, picnic table, and fire ring. It also seems like each site is made to support two rigs.
There is also a big trash dumpster, pull through fresh water fill, flush toilets, and token operated showers. Tokens and camping are paid in the office which has limited hours Fri/Sat/Sun but the sites and showers are open all week.
There is tons on OHV activity in the area!
If you need a dump station, it is few miles further south on the west side of the road.
Group of us has been coming out to CA city for 10+ years now
We boondock 5+ days
So many trails and points to visit and ride to
Very open, mostly flat
Not a very hard packed desert
Perfect riding spot
Great sites, first come first serve but there was plenty of room when I was there. They come with covered picnic table, trash can, fire pit, and grill per site. Free with no hookups. On site bathroom and token showers- we weren’t able to buy tokens because the office was closed but we did get in late on a weekend. There are off-road vehicles but they quieted down by 11.
While coming up to this area (20 mule team road) we seen a lot of great boon docking sites. There are miles of open desert to choose from. Bring in everything you need because there are no service. We did not stay at Borax Bills. How ever you can buy water at borax Bills. There are OHV on the weekends . Great place to relax. 2 wheel drive can access the roads. There is no charge for dry camping.
Free dry camping or paid electric hookup. Easy
access, paved road until park entrance. Maintained
established campground. Quite far from the
highway but WORTH IT to get a good night's sleep.
Very clean, good spacing and great Verizon. We were here midweek in November. This place is setup for Off-road Heaven. Im sure it’s busy and somewhat loud in Off Road season. Bathrooms, garbage, covered picnic tables and fire rings. Free if you don’t hook up. Various prices depending on if you use power, water or it’s a holiday. While it’s right on the road almost no one goes by. A few fighter jets from the nearby base but only during parts of the day.
32 foot class A with dolly tow
Easy to find, easy to park, hookups available if needed. If you're adventurous or in the appropriate vehicle you can leave parking lot and boondock. Each site including those off the parking lot had covered picnic tables, fire pit, and trashcan.
Showers on site that take tokens, bear in mind that the office is only open Friday to Sunday.
Relatively clean found a few rusty nails and some broken glass but otherwise fine. During the weekdays we were the only ones there. The weekend brought more activity mostly consisting for OHV day use. Nights were very quiet.
Dump station and water down the road.
The campsite is located directly next to the road and therefore super easy to find. The place is clean and large.
From Friday to Saturday the office is staffed where you can buy "coins" for the showers.
The toilets are only accessible with a key.
Electricity and water are available ( you have to pay for that ).
Showed up on a Thursday around 2. Only 1 other rig in the 6 electric sites. By 4pm all full. Free is you don't use electricity. $15 a night for electricity, which we paid happily as it was 94 degrees. Staff is very nice. Each site has a fire pit and patio. Water fill up is 15 for up to 100 gallons, and dump is 5. We were very happy to find this spot to rest and cool off for a couple of days
