“World's Biggest Dinosaurs T-Rex Museum, Gardens & Gift Stores!”
The World's Biggest Dinosaurs™ museum is an educational adventure featuring work from scientists around the world. Our desire is to help the young and old explore what is known and not known about dinosaurs, man and the creation of the world in a practical, factual and fun way. Mr. Rex's museum will fascinate the young and adult with interesting information on the origins of dinosaurs and man. The T-Rex Museum was built nearly 30 years ago and towers 4 stories. Adults and children can make the climb to the top for a magnificent view out Mr. Rex's teeth. From the Interstate Highway, the uncommon view of two giant dinosaurs, on an arid plain surrounded by mountains, is an irresistible magnet. But tourists are not the only ones compelled to stop. Well within a convenient day-drive of the Los Angeles sphere, the Cabazon Dinosaurs are media darlings appearing often in commercials, music videos, film and print ads. The dinosaurs were built over 30 years ago. The apatosaurus (formely known as the brontosaurus) took eleven years to build and is the biggest dinosaur in the world. The belly of Dinny hosts an awesome store with something for everyone. The T-Rex, affectionately known as "Mr. Rex", took seven years to build.
Just so people know... the dinos were bought by Creationists and they're now used as Creationist propoganda. You can still take pictures out front with the dinos if you don't want to pay to see the museum, though!
The Dino's are the same ones from Pee Wee's Big Adventure.. Just ignore the creationist propaganda that sort of ruins the fun of it.
These are the same iconic dinosaurs that have been there for years, it is a really fun spot to take a break from driving and stretch your legs. The brontosaurus has a shop inside that has plenty of fun gifts for people. A great spot to check off your road trip list. Take plenty of photos!
Worth the stop. It's a little underwhelming when you pull up, but it takes greats photos. Gas up there and then head up the road to Ruby's Diner for some pancakes! Pro tip: the app goes to the wrong spot. The dinosaurs are on the north side (westbound) side of the highway near a Burger King.
It's a creationist museum now, which is interesting.. Lambs, monkeys, lions and even a knight in shining armor hang out with the Dino's.. I found that entertaining, and appreciate that they've kept it open. Going up into Mr. Rex was the best part though, fans of fallout, this is Boone's Sniper spot!
The dinosaur statues are outside - you can take pictures and eat lunch under them. There is also an indoor robotic dinosaur section that looks open and you pay 8$ an adult to go in - we skipped this.
This is a nice quick stop. A bit underwhelming but definitely worth it if you have kids with you. You can go inside the Brontosaurus-there’s a neat little gift shop there.
Cool to see the dinosaurs. The apatosaur has a gift shop inside it and there's a Dino adventure to see where you can climb into the T. rex's mouth, do a dino dig, and see more smaller dinosaurs, but you have to buy tickets to get into tbe Dino adventure.
Took my 9-month old here and he had a blast! Also, no one was there! We didn't have to pay admission we just drove in. It was August so it was pretty hot, but it's a fantastic stop for photos! Highly recommended!
I didn't see anything that implied the owners were creationists, it seemed more educational and kitschy. Admission is $10 for adults and $9 for kids 2-12. Our 15 month old loved it, but was just as interested in the twigs and rocks on the path as the dinosaurs. The bathrooms are surprisingly clean and there's a lot to look at. No one else was climbing the T-Rex while we were there so it wasn't too hot or crowded. No misters either. But maybe it's under new ownership. Definitely worth admission just for our toddler to stretch his legs and have a snack.
