“At the heart of the Redwoods”
The Smithe Redwoods State Natural Reserve was formerly a private resort. The reserve contains the Frank and Bess Smithe Grove of redwoods. The grove was dedicated in 1963. Located on the south fork of the Eel River, the park features a 60-foot waterfall, picnic area, fishing and swimming.
