Ajhumawi Lava Spring State Park is a very rugged and remote wilderness area. It can only be reached by boat. There are no public roads to it and private motor vehicles are prohibited. The name comes from the Achomawi people and means "where the waters come together". The park is situated at the confluence of the Fall River and several smaller streams. It contains freshwater springs and geologically recent lava flows.
