“a rustic paradise”
The Geoduck Tavern has its own salmon derby. That’s one reason this antlered, clubhouse-style hangout with a deck overlooking piney Hood Canal is a rustic paradise. The other is the Burger Dip. (Owner Sue Perley: “I saw this big logger come in one day, and I said, ‘I’ll bet he’d like to dip that burger in something.’”) It’s a hybrid hamburger and French Dip sandwich, invented here in tiny Brinnon, Washington, a way station for Olympic Mountains hikers in summer, a rainy Twin Peaks stand-in the rest of the year.
