Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on July 17, 2022This campground is one of the nicest forest service campgrounds we've ever stayed at. Paved roads and pads, water spigots conveniently spaced, clean flush toilets, a wonderful host. There is some road noise from 395, but not loud enough to be bothersome. A great place to "get away from it all", avoiding the crowds you find at most campgrounds in California. We did not have cell service, ATT or T-Mobile. A good deal at $20, and a bargain at $10 if you are over 62 and have the federal geezer pass.

Very nice NPS campground. Campsites are well-spaced and very quiet. There are two loops on a hillside with plenty of shade. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Picnic tables and fire rings. Flush toilets too. Water spigots. Site 62 was perfectly level side-to-side. No blocks needed. No cell. Not a problem. Will definitely be back.

Excellent stop along 395. Very clean. Easy sites for our 25’ motorhome and our friends 24’ trailer got a back in site they didn’t even have to disconnect. Noticed a couple 5th wheels had to search and jockey parking alot. Older campsite sizes.

Our price reflects 1/2 off with Sr. Pass. Paved road in with easy access for big rigs. Branches are trimmed. Many sites can fit our 40’ 5er. Threaded water spigots throughout, clean bathrooms, garbage, picnic table and fire pits. No dump. Nice camphost. Fantastic fishing!! I see more cell towers along 395 and while our phones showed almost no cell, we had 2-3 bars boosted in our site which allowed Hubs to work. Only got dropped a couple times. Fill your tank and get groceries in Gardnerville for less pain at the pump. Water is just clearing and fishing should be awesome mid June. We were here during Memorial Weekend with almost 1/2 sites open. We heard there is some confusion that you have to have a reservation but it is FCFS. Only a tiny amount of road noise. We come for the fishing but plenty of day trips close by including Bodie Ghost Town, Mono Lake, June Lake Loop and geocaching.

Hardly any other campers in the campground. No cell service but who cares! Cell service close by if you need it.

Dry camping, but we knew this before going. They did have flush toilets though. The $12 nightly fee was discounted from $24 due to our America the Beautiful Senior Pass. Although the campground was along US-395, we hardly notice, as there was very little traffic noise. Fire ring, picnic table and grill at each site. Paved roads and sites. There are many sites which will accomodate longer RVs. Our pickup/travel trailer combination was 50' and we fit in our back-in site. Although there is no reservations (first come first serve), we were able to find a site that we liked with no problems. It was hot during our stay, but there are plenty of trees around that provided shade for our trailer and our camp chairs. Quiet hours are between 10pm and 6am, which left plenty of time to cool the trailer before turning off our generator.
Although I indicate no Verizon service, this was true at our site (38). However, as you approach the entrance off US-395, you do get a weak signal, enough to text and call. I doubt there is any data access.

This is a lovely campground with sites for all sizes of RVs. It is right along HWY, 395 so easy to access, but any road noise was drowned out by the raging Walker River. Camp host very pleasant. They had water on all the tables for putting out campfires. Our fee was due to Senior Pass. Our site, #31 also had a small stream running next to it. On the day after Memorial Day, there were only a few campsites occupied We did not have any cell or wi-fi service.
