“Blue Bell Creamery Tours”
It all started on a hot summer day when local farmers decided to establish the Brenham Creamery Company and make butter from excess cream brought in by area farmers. A few years later, the creamery began making ice cream and delivering it to neighbors by horse and wagon. It was in 1930 that the company changed its name to Blue Bell Creameries after the native Texas bluebell wildflower. And although Blue Bell is only available in about 26% of the nation’s supermarkets, it ranks as one of the top three, best-selling ice creams in the country. Our products are sold in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wyoming. No matter how much the market grows, quality standards never change and are never diluted or compromised. That's why, people who are lucky enough to live where they can buy Blue Bell Ice Cream, say it's "the best ice cream in the country."
They are not currently offering tours due to a recent recall. They just started making ice cream again. Lesson: call before you drive.
Nice way to see how ice cream is made!! You get a free scoop at the end!! And only 1$ for each extras after that!!! Tasting is free though!!!
Fun site! See how ice cream is made and enjoy a creamy treat of your choice only downside is that it is a real factory and only open on weekdays.
They are now having tours but you can't use the link from this page. Simply google bluebell.com for information. It's a cute little tour to take with the kids.
