US 385 Roadside Picnic Area

May 20th, 2022: RVer report confirms multiple reports from Feb 2015 & earlier, & info provided by TX DOT. Overnight RV Parking is allowed. State of TX allows overnight parking in Roadside Picnic Areas unless there is signage to the contrary. This area has a fairly short off-road turnout, separated from the highway, with entrances at both ends, and a second loop (unpaved) off the first, quite long and well separated from the highway. Level, unlighted, appear safe & reasonably quiet. Second loop roadway may be muddy following wet weather. Three sheltered picnic tables, BBQ grills, trash receptacles. No other known amenities.
