Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on January 14, 2022We arrived during business hours so check in was a breeze. When we pulled into our waterfront campsite there was only a couple of other campers at the other end of the road so it was very private. Our view was amazing - sunrise over the lake every morning. There are 4 large lakes, the largest has a boat ramp but there are docks for fishing in each one. Wildlife is abundant here! We saw numerous species of bird, armadillo, raccoon and my husband saw a panther on one of the horse trails! 😟 There are miles of trails for hiking, biking and horse riding.
We were there around Easter for 11 days - the weekends were busy but we were the only campers during the week. The bathhouse was cleaned every morning, hot showers with great water pressure.
They are located pretty far from town - its over half an hour to a store so stop before you get there. The camp store at the front gate has ice, firewood and fishing supplies so you won't need to go into town to get those items.
We can't wait to go back!

We stayed in site 42. The staff at the camp store and check in were very nice and friendly. The sites are well spaced and we had a nice view of the lake. We enjoyed the trails. We saw lots of birds and a few alligators and even saw horses walking on the trail around the lake. We were treated to a beautiful sunrise. Very quiet.

I almost hate to post about this hidden gem... this smaller beautiful park is our favorite campground to stay!
It’s beautiful, quiet and very laid back. There are four large lakes which offer a great fishing, multiple boat ramps and over 20 pull through sites right on the lake. All of the campsites surround a huge open field which provides some of the most amazing stargazing I have found. We stayed at our favorite site, number 37.

Very nice park with 4 lakes (2 of them are stocked and ready for fishing). GREAT family park with a ton of trails! The only drawback is that the ONLY bathhouse is quite a long walk especially for people with limited mobility so bring your golf cart with you!!

Our first RV camping experience close to home. The wife and I wanted a quick weekend getaway to set up the new Tracer and we found the best spot. Easy, call in reservations, clean bathrooms and facilities. You can drive or walk/hike around the 4 lakes on the property. Lots of wildlife, Friendly neighbors and quiet night made this stay absolutely wonderful. Zero Tmobile service but we needed a break from our phones.

This is a beautiful park built around 4 lakes. The primitive sites are $15 and are on one of the lakes. The RV sites are $20 and some are close to a lake. We spent two nights in an RV site and two nights in primitive over the MLK weekend. The park was maybe 90% full. Half of the campers brought ATVs or golf carts and drove these around and around. There is no privacy between sites. There are hiking, off road biking and bridle trails. The roads through the campground were heavily traveled and the speed limit was not obeyed. Probably this place is peaceful and quiet during the week. We picked a busy time. Bathhouses were fairly clean and showers were hot.

Trails and lakes and open fields. Great campground and we are planning on returning. Books solid for weekends but not during the week. Cash only for payment.
Horse trails bike trails and walking trails. Roads are gravel prepare for a little dust.
Nice bathrooms and showers hot. No laundry. Water and electricity at rv sites and fire rings and picnic tables.
Lots of wildlife. We were here in January. Cool but sunny.

The park itself is great, and I hate not to give five stars. Remote, lots of lakefront and trails to explore, and affordable ($25/night+tax for full hookups and you can book and pay online with credit/debit—NOT cash only). BUT the locals seem to have claimed this as a party, off-roading, show what a macho man you are site. Each stay, we’ve been near drunk nasty men, folks speeding through the grounds in vehicles and atvs while shining their brights on people trying ti sit at their campfire, dogs running free, children screaming into the night with no attention from their parents, littering all over the place. Tried calling the office multiple times one evening because of how awful a man was screaming at a sobbing woman—no answer. Our current neighbor is chugging beer, despite the no alcohol rule, and ridiculing his wife nonstop. Only intervention I saw was when a kid was doing donuts in a golf cart right in front of a park attendee. It’s such a shame that these people are ruining such a nice space. The week is much calmer than the weekends, but try to find a site with no neighbors. Seems like nature-appreciating, respectful campers are the exception rather than the norm.

Large county owned/operated park. Former phosphate mine. Roads are dirt and dusty, we arrived in rain and they were washboard. County crew was grading the roads a few days later. We stayed from Sunday to Thursday on President’s Day weekend. Lots of campers, kids, was pretty quiet. Lots of trails and fishing opportunities. Easy to reserve and pay online, along with checking in (we arrived in rain and during attendant’s lunch break) and checking out. Clean easy to access dump station. We had a lakefront pull through site, very nice and shady. Constant industrial noise from nearby electric generating station.
