This large scenic look out is actually a side loop off Chuckanut Drive and is separated from the main road by multiple large trees. We did not camp here but would have if we had known it was there. There are no signs prohibiting overnight parking and the pull out is well south of Larrabee State Park so you shouldn't have any problems.
There are other pull outs along this road but this one was the largest and prettiest by far. Super spacious area with room for multiple large RVs on a relatively level asphalt surface. Beautiful views overlooking Samish Bay and an interpretive sign.
This is a beautiful spot for an overnight stay, unfortunately we could not get here with our rig. The highway from both directions is closed to all vehicles over 18,000lbs. Access is easiest from the south due to the sharp turns on the northern route. If you have a rig that is under 18k, and probably less than 35ft you should be ok getting here. We were very disappointed we couldn't get here to spend the night...but safety first.
There are 2 good turnouts on this very curvy road. No signage prohibiting overnight parking. Not much traffic going by at night. There is a train that rumbles by below numerous times throughout the night, but otherwise it's fairly quiet and peaceful. Great boondocking!
This is a wayside overlook on a narrow road overlooking the ocean. Except for the racing car at 3 am, it was pretty quiet. It is not for big rigs. My 21’ van was fine.
Easy pullover just before the state park. Nice view to wake up from and woodsy.
