Apparently this casino/business changed hands recently and they are no longer OK with over night RV/van parking in their lot. We got a knock on the window around 10 pm (after we came back to the van after gambling inside for a bit) and were asked to park across the street with the truckers. So it worked out, we stayed the night in that lot, and were still able to drive back across the road and use their bathrooms in the morning. There is a nice trailhead from their parking lot that leads down to the Historic Railroad Hiking Trail where we were able to take the pup for a long walk. Location is great! Right outside Hoover Dam and easy access to Lake Mead.
One important thing to note, the hotel is now called Hoover Dam Lodge and the overnight parking is in the large gravel lot across the street from hotel. It is primarily truck parking but because lot is so large easy to find a spot. The negatives... truck noise. It was 95 degrees one night of our stay and trucks idled all night. The positives...Use of hotel/casino bathroom across the street, also food and coffee. The biggest plus for us was the trail starting at the parking lot on the hotel side of the road. After getting some coffee in the hotel and moving our van across the street, we road our bikes along this trail. It takes you along Lake Mead, through five railroad tunnels and to the Hoover dam. (3 miles one way).
This spot is a huge gravel lot to park in across Hwy 93 from the dumpy Hoover Dam Casino. There is a lot of trash, and noise from the semi's and helicopter tours, and no amenities here, but we still liked it.
Despite the somewhat crappy conditions, and depressing casino, this makes a great area to explore the Hoover Dam. You are very close to Lake Mead and the Colorado River which you can paddle. There is lots of biking and downhill mountain biking close by. There are also several hikes in the area, and at least 3 different hot springs close by as well. We stayed there for a week and never had anyone bother us.
Boulder Beach Campground is about a mile away and you can dump and fill there. Its free if you have a National Parks Pass.
we stayed her one night on our way through Nevada. We pulled in after dark but had no trouble finding a spot and parking. Very open and level, lots of trucks and big rigs. The casino sign is very bright, but curtains will do the trick. Casino also has a 24 hour general store if you need anything.
Thus place is AWESOME!! There is a paved parking lot across the Hoover Dam Lodge but we parked in the casino parking lot near the big red rock where the helicopter tours land near the back. Dog friendly area to walk your pups BUT BEWARE of RATTLESNAKES we saw 4 and almost stepped on 2! What can you expect for the desert tho? Is it a top class resort? No, but how can you complain when you're in need of a spot to stay so you can rest? The views are phenomenal. People were coming and going for the view beyond the fence but nothing annoying. Helicopters do fly over but NOT while you sleep. Awesome spot and ANY size rig can fit on either lot. No one bothered us.

Great place If you want to sleep in the car with beautiful view and free access to the bathroom in the hotel.
Parking Lot fenced off
We needed a place to stay overnight, I saw another review that camping here was closed so I called, they said it is ok to stay in a self contained RV, they just ask that you park in the back of the lot. A lot of truckers overnight here so it can be noisy when they come and go but we slept fine. We felt safe, there is a view of the lake, walking trail and area for your dog to potty.
I understand that the RV parking was at one time across the street from the Lodge. I called ahead of time and learned that the Lodge no longer owns that property but still allows RVers to park in their parking lot adjacent to the Lodge. They ask that RVs be parked away from the Lodge near the overnight semi trucks which was perfectly fine with us. Expect a lot of truck traffic but it’s still fairly quiet. Earplugs will solve that problem. Will stay here again if we end up in this area in the future. It is just a paved parking lot so no services. The Bighorn Cafe food was good and the staff was very pleasant. WiFi in the Lodge was great. Direct access to the Railroad Trail from the parking lot and easy, quick drive to both Lake Mead and Hoover Dam.
This was a great stop! Close to the restaurant and hiking trails with a beautiful view of the lake. Despite all the trucks it was pretty quiet.
