Most of the sites in this section are nice and they all have electric. There is another section without electric. The shower houses are well kept. There is an area in the day use section where you can wade in the river. The camp host sells firewood. There is a Walmart about 11 miles south of the campground.

We have camped at St. Francois State Park on multiple occasions and have enjoyed it each time. We usually go during the winter season as a quick getaway out of the city. The campground has plenty of pull through sites to make for quick set up. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. There is good hiking through out the park as well as the Big River to play in or fish in. Water is available in season and there are several electric sites.

Wasn't my first choice, based on the fact I grew up around here, but super happy I ended up here. Wanted to get out of St. Louis for a couple of days and this fit the bill.
Verizon speeds at 25 Mbps allowed me to work. Plenty of great places to eat in Bonne Terre, Desloge and Farmington.
Nice river to cool off in. Some good walking and hiking. Standard fare for Midwest wildlife. Deer, turkey, raccoons, etc.
Enjoy a quiet spot close to civilization.

Be warned. Bonne Terre Drag Strip (google it - it’s a real place) is louder than any screaming child, barking dog or radio. It never dawned on me when I registered for a relaxing weekend in the country that my relaxation would be destroyed by cars, trucks, and motorcycles revving their engines screaming down a track late into the night.👎👎 Unless this is your cup of tea check the drag strip’s schedule before paying for a site.

It was a great place to stay just off of the Highway. All sites are electric only but there are at least 4 places to fill up with water. Close to our favorite place to hunt for gems.
