“Alavita! Cheers to Life!”
Great food need not be elaborate nor overwrought, but rather fresh, uncomplicated and well-executed. Our core belief: great food need not be elaborate or overwrought, but rather fresh, uncomplicated and well executed in order to get out of the way of the ingredients and find the joy in their innate flavors and qualities. In the vein of a traditional Italian osteria as a casual, local gathering place (An Italian Joint) to discover food, friends, wine, and creative libations, our menu reflects a new twist on Italian fare that is inspired by local, regional ingredients. We firmly subscribe to our mantra of being ‘Loyal To Local.’ Designer Mitch Thompson has helped create a whimsical, warm and welcoming environment through his use of organic textures, elements, unique chandelier lighting and refined materials, each chosen for its functionality, innate ability to create an energetic and vibrant visual experience. A central u-shaped bar constructed of beautiful materials including a blue pearl granite top serves as both a visual centerpiece for the dining room. The central bar is a comfortable inviting space to dine and sip hand-crafted or barrel-aged cocktails. Custom light fixtures above the bar and metallic painted local Idaho lodge-poles were commissioned specifically for ÀLAVITA by local artist, Todd Martin. Custom butcher block tables were crafted to reinforce the fact that we make our pastas in house on Boos butcher blocks, chairs and comfortable booths fill the dining room while guests dine in front of ÀLAVITA’s very open display kitchen in the heart of downtown Boise. During lunch and dinner, guests are able to spy on the restaurant’s culinary crew preparing fresh meals, many utilizing hand-made pastas made in house fresh daily in an intimate dining room setting. Some of the front windows of the historic 1890 Boise City National Bank building (805 Idaho) have been replaced with garage doors that open to Idaho Street to take in the humming of our downtown city. ÀLAVITA procures many ingredients from the local market and prepare them in an Italian presentation; hence, Locally Inspired Italian. Along with the full bar, there is a modest beer selection and wine list to choose from. ÀLAVITA is proud to provide a myriad of gluten free options upon request and 80% of our menu can be prepared gluten free. Please see the * on our menu for details. The joy of eating fresh seasonal ingredients prepared simple and well among good company is one shared by all at ÀLAVITA. It is with this simple thought in mind that we invite you to join us to celebrate life and be a part of our family. Salute ÀLAVITA…Cheers To Life!
