The centerpiece of Gasparilla is the restored Boca Grande Lighthouse built in 1890. Swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and nature study are popular activities. Shelling is particularly good in the winter months. Two picnic areas offer pavilions for shade and scenic views of the surrounding water.
Went here with my boyfriend for a day trip. The beach was really nice and the lighthouse is definitely an awesome bonus! The place was not too crowded; giving it a more relaxed feel. The beach stretches really wide and provides umbrellas, cottages and chairs for the guests. My boyfriend and I had lunch during our visit here. We brought our own food basket and enjoyed our meal with an incredible scenery from one of the available tables. The view from our spot was simply amazing.
