In June the average high was 98 and low 70s, with wind it isn't too bad.
Lots of bugs*.
Big rig friendly.
No dump stations or water anywhere near the site.

I stayed overnight here on a Saturday night (July 15).
It was very windy all night long.
There were several other campers, looked to be locals wind surfing in the Columbia for the weekend. I did not feel threatened at all by them.
It is easy to get to, and worked for the night.
Note, that it is down the road from Boardman, not at the Boardman exit.
Also, there are trains on both sides of the Columbia that run all night ... it was some what noisy.

Based on all the prior reviews I did a site visit and ended up talking to a camper already onsite for the past few days. She felt quite comfortable, which confirmed I needed to spend some time here.
I echo most of the prior comments. For me, being it is mid-Nov, the temps are 40s and I had the whole place to myself. Dog loved exploring all this vacant land! I kayaked out to the island. The next east bound exit is a Love's with water, fuel, light groceries and propane. The trains did come by, but since it is chilly my windows remained closed and generator periodically running... meaning, I hardly heard them. I have had much worse experiences in Colorado Springs.
MIFI speeds are respectable, but as you can see... pointing the MIMO antenna to the towers you see across the river to the east had huge benefits (ping/download/upload).

Rather busy, rather windy, rather noisy. Lots of traffic. Lots of bugs. Trains on both sides of the river come by through the night. Dirty bathrooms, not sure why people can’t use a bathroom without getting their fecal matter and pee everywhere. With different people and different circumstances it would be a nicer place.

Called within 30 feet of the Columbia river on a calm windless night. We could hear the trains and a tugboat but they were not a bit disturbing. Watched the fish jumping, the birds diving and saw a muskrat swim by. 3 other rigs were nearby but very quiet and clean. The road is gravel and a bit bumpy.

Aside from some faint train and highway noise, this is a great place to stop for a peaceful night's sleep.

Nice dry camp. Other campers were clean, quiet and respectful. (unlike I've heard the other columbia river spots closer toward portland. homeless, drugies, etc.)
Fishing was good for small mouth bass (up to 4#). Walleye fishing was slow but picking up.
On the subj of fishing.....please take your fish guts out and dump them in the river rather than putting them in the dumpster to stink the place up. The river will absorb the guts and they will feed catfish and crawdads.
Enjoy!

We travel with 30' 5thwheel with f-250. This place is only couple miles from I-84. One big farly leveld gravel parking lot and couple of small sites for tents and vans. It was pretty windy.

Stayed here for three nights and it was good for what it is. It’s an easy on/off from the highway, and is right next to the river, which is awesome.
We arrived on a Wednesday to around 8-10 RVs all packed into the area near the fence and along the river. Not a big deal, but a bit more crowded than what I would have expected for a Wednesday.
It was super windy a good chunk of the time we were there, and when the wind would finally die down, the mosquitoes would come out in full force. Not deal breakers, but couldn’t really spend much time outside comforotably.
On the plus side, Verizon had a strong signal so was able to get any work done that was needed. It was also free, so any negative aspects are pretty quickly outweighed by the price. The trains aren’t bad at all. It’s a beautiful view down the river, and
it was fairly clean.
All in all I might stay here again if traveling through, but after seeing some of the other camps between this one and Dalles, it seems like there are better, more sparsely populated options available.

A short drive off the interstate. Large gravel lot and mostly level with nice views of the river and friendly people there. State police came thru twice a day which was nice.
