Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on July 31, 2023This is a very well maintained, clean and manicured little campground along an otherwise bland stretch in I-84. It is easily accessed from the highway, easy to maneuver through the park and sites are widely spaced, level and most are at least partially shaded. Sites along the river offer great expansive views of the river (technically turned lake by a dam downstream) and the rolling hills of Washington farmland on the other side.
Our favorite amenity was the paved walking/cycling path that connects the campground with the adjacent marina and a community center and lodge with a small beach area just to the east. It is about 3 miles long and great for taking in the river views if you don't score one of the lakeside campsites. There are laundry facilities onsite as well as a nice, new-looking playground. Boardman itself is quite small, mostly a few gas stations and diners along the interstate. But it is a friendly little town with bike paths. Probably not a destination itself, but in decent proximity to the attractions of the Columbia River Gorge to the west.
Only issue was somewhat weak and spotty cell service. Also, despite specifically requesting a long, shady site when we called in our reservation, we were given a pull-through with little shade and barely enough length for our motor home and toad. We are big though, but still, we felt we were told what we wanted to hear on the phone. So, if you have special needs, be sure to insist, confirm and insist again.

Fabulous city park with immaculate grounds right on the Columbia River off I-84. Easy access, good signage to find the park. Good thing, because GPS will tell you to turn right on Marina Drive when the big sign says left! The trees are lovely but do limit the number of sites with satellite dish access. If it's a requirement for you, make the request when you reserve.
Love the bike path. Not much happening besides the river. Nice local grocery and a few eateries. The lodge down the street makes a good meal and the dining room is nice.
We loved this park and would stay again for a longer time. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy a nice camp fire along the river.

Stayed on 3 separate occasions, twice in May 2015 and once September 2015. There is a reason this park is almost always booked full! It is immaculately maintained, the folks that run it are super nice (but very no nonsense). Very pet friendly with ample places to walk the pups. Right on the Columbia river. Sites have ample space (even in the circle loops) and where they are a bit tighter fences have been put up as a barrier. Lovely green space and convenient to town. This is my "go to" stop on the way to and from the western part of Oregon.
Loved site 15 (very spacious) however it is kind of a bugger to back a trailer into (and mine is only 19' long) due to the narrow roads within the campground and the pull through sites on the other side. Site 27 was perfect and easy to get into. Virtually all the sites have at least some shade (nice big trees). All sites are very level.

Our rate reflects a Good Sam rate. We stopped here for the night after we tried to stay at Le Page Park which wasn't open yet. It was busy despite the less-than-perfect weather and Sunday night stay, but there were plenty of spots available. #1 was a back in and was level. It looked out beyond the other loop to the water. We enjoyed walking on the path along the river. Bathrooms were serviceably clean. Wifi did not work, but we had 2 bars of ATT LTE.

This is a WONDERFUL campground. It is owned and run by the City of Boardman and the employees take great pride in how this park is managed.
Full hook-ups and our 30' trailer fit easily into our spot and on the windy roads in the park.
Playgrounds for kids, open grass spaces, walking trail and views of the Columbia River are spectacular.
There are lots of spaces between trailers and privacy is good. There are even privacy fences on many spots.
The town of Boardman has basic services but not an abundance of choices. But the people are friendly and helpful.
There is a railroad track close to the park, but without any RR crossings, there are no horns, so it is unobtrusive.
If you are in the Columbia Gorge, this is a great stopping point.

Well maintained and pleasant park. Mostly large rigs, fairly well spaced paved spots, all with hookups. Price depends on location. 19 was sunny and nice river view. Showers and laundry.
Nice paved walking trail along river. Many birds. Access to the Umatilla National Wildlife Refuge.
Some noise from interstate and railways.

Stayed here after Nov 1 (winter rate), so that's why the rate is lower than their normal rate. Also, this is with a Good Sam discount. HIghly recommend this place but it is booked up most of the time in the summer so make reservations early. Gave a lower rating for noise because of large volume of train traffic all night on tracks near the campground. However, no horns or whistles so it didn't really bother us.

We arrived around 6 pm on a Tuesday (early April) and there were tons of openings. They put us at site #15 and it was beautiful; right along the river.
Sites were nicely spaced, level, and ours had 30 and 50 amp electricity, sewage, and freshwater with two spouts. Lots of green grass and a playground close by that our kids spent hours at.
The campground is far enough off the highway that there was no noise. Some trains on the nearby track but those don’t bother me, and they stopped before it was too late.
I didn’t check the bathrooms out but I assume they were pretty clean, based on how well the grounds were kept.
The campground staff was incredibly friendly. Seriously, each employee we encountered seemed to genuinely love their job. Good people like these make the world go around ✌️🙃
Only two slight negatives- There was a manure smell that hung around for a bit the evening...Farm nearby I assume? And second, our riverside site was pretty windy which made our campfire short-lived. The fire pits did have wind protecting grills on them though, which helped to an extent.

This park will rival many state parks, if not better than many. Full-hook ups, good spacing between sites, Lake area and lots of rolling grass.
There is a bike trail that takes you to the Marina with a great little pizza and beer place with plenty of outdoor seating.
Next time we’ll try for a waterfront site and stay for a week.
