The photos and website make it look grassy and serene. In reality it’s a dirt lot with no lights, no nothing. Very sketchy entrance on thin, pot holed dirt road, no lighting. It looked like about 4 sites in the place, whereas the map shows more. I paid for a “premium” site. they say they reserve the right to move you even after you’ve selected your site and paid unless you pay extra (only $2 so I did it ). Had to jump through hoops online to make an account to reserve and pay. So it was not fun to arrive at night to find a scary hole AND our selected site occupied!

This place was so nice and open! Big, spread out and very comfortable. The owners were incredibly nice and welcoming. Would definitely recommend staying there!!!!!
Loved this place. It's a quaint semi-primative campground. We had the whole place to ourselves and my son absolutely had a ball. We were in one of the RV spots. It was shaded and next to the river. The spots have electric but no water. There is a water hookup under one if the pavilions to fill tanks and rinse things.
Stayed one nights due to time limits. Campground is 3 years old and is a work in progress
All his camper sites have electrical hookup, very new and nice. For bathroom he has a typical event toilet, no problem for us we’re a dry camping unit so have own water and sewer.
For tent campers make sure you get a site on the grass since the entire area is fine river sand from past ages. He does have a water facet on site, but couldn’t say if the water was potable because we used our water system water
The river is right there and easy to get down to but has a fence to limit kids from wandering into river. Speaking of kids he has several toys on the Grass area appropriate for kids. Also has bbq and picnic tables scattered over the area
As the area matures I hope he hauls in gravel for the trailer sites and probably for the road. Since it’s a fine sand you need to limit shoes in camper or tent
Gave it a good rating, relatively cheap, close to town, easy to get in and out
This place is a gem! It's right along the San Juan river and a beautiful little camp ground. Sites are flat. Boating access to the river. Extremely quiet place. Don't be scared off because you have to drive about 1/4 mile on a dirt road past 2 small oil wells. It's worth it! Robert (the owner) has a superb web presence for reserving a site: florezriverviewcampground.com.
