Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on September 22, 2019This is a super easy, just off the highway boondock with plenty of space for multiple rigs or big rigs, and plus, unobstructed views of the Bear Ears mesas! *****MAJOR WARNING: the GPS coordinates lead you to a large dirt parking area next to a corral, and just before the dirt road goes up a slight hill. This is the only appropriate area for RVs. Just after that hill, the road goes to hell. DO NOT attempt to go on the road past the corral without scouting it out first, because the ruts were terrible when we were there. There is another camping area about another 1/4 mile on, but you'd want high clearance to access it.
And minor warning: the boondocking area is a little lumpy, but any size rig should be OK as long as you go slow. However, the dirt gets really sticky when it's wet, so it's not an area to choose in rainy times.
We loved the quiet, the stars, and being in the shadows of America's newest National Monument. We had multiple neighbors when we were there, but everyone was super friendly and respectful.

4:30pm on a Saturday that fell just before the Fall Equinox and not a soul occupying a single one of the half dozen or so wide spots between the trees that comprise the spots here were taken. Essentially a parking lot, the pavement crumbling into various states of decay but still perfect for the two young boys who tagalong with us to ride their bikes up and down, large juniper trees line the north end and, where they give way to open desert sand, stone fire pits have been carefully crafted by unknown countless RVers before us. Immediately south, Utah State Road 95 is a stone’s throw from any of the parallel spots, but fewer than twenty cars went by all evening, even if Sunday morning traffic began picking up just after sunrise. For the annoyance the little road noise there was could be held accountable for, a view of the rocky canyon and vast desert forest to the north, all topped with Bears Ears’ as a centerpiece and a sunrise nearly as impressive as the vivid, almost ketchup red sunset the preceded it easily make up for it all.
Utah’s 95 is an absolutely gorgeous stretch of road, somewhat of a secret compared to the more common routes between Capitol Reef and Moab’s offerings, and this place is essentially a roadside rest stop in comparison to the many other, more beautiful places to tuck into the desert here. And as far as roadside rest stops go, it’s a 5-star affair. Still, in comparison with its fellow BLM spots both east and west, well, it’s a roadside rest stop...
