“Middle Eastern restaurant”
Sameer Eid is the dean of mideastern fare in the area. Long before mideastern restaurants proliferated, he was serving the classic dishes of Lebanon in modest quarters, moving to Birmingham in the early '80's. His approach is quite different from the other restaurants, with a menu that has a more refined approach and includes many departures from the standard dishes. The Phoenicia Restaurant was first opened in Highland Park, Michigan in 1971. After a long successful run in Highland Park, owner Sameer Eid decided it was time to move his flourishing business to the up and coming city of Birmingham, Michigan. Sameer has continued to work extra hard to ensure that the Phoenicia always offers excellent cuisine, that leaves his clientele wanting more. Until now Sameer wakes up at five in the morning and heads to the Eastern Market to select the finest cuts of meat and fresh produce. These are the small details that make the Phoenicia dining experience what it is today. Dining at the Phoenicia is a feast for both the palate and the eyes.
