“Primitive campsites right on the beach!”
Lone Rock Beach Campground is a large primitive campsite located on the shores of Wahweap Bay and adjacent to Lone Rock, a large isolated redrock formation. It is accessible to vehicles—you can drive right onto the sand and set up camp on the beach or nearby sand dunes. It is “Primitive”, meaning no designated camping spots, but you’ll find toilets, outhouses, RV dump, cold showers, potable water in the camp area. Jet Ski’s, boats and personal watercraft can be operated and/or anchored conveniently at the beach. The beach is about an 8 mile drive from Wahweap marina, but about half the distance by water. Many people use this location on holidays / weekends, so plan accordingly (no reservations). Remember to bring a porta-potty if you’re camping more than 200 yards from the outhouses—the park service regularly patrols this site and you’ll face fines if you don’t obey this rule. We also recommend driving on already-established car paths, as many people will tell you about getting stuck in the soft sand
This place is soo beautiful. When we visited in July 2014, the entire shore was lined with RVs and cars. Still wasn't super busy, I would definitely stay here again. However! Note that there is a small parking lot for cars. Most vehichles THAT CAN drive down to the shore. I immediately got stuck and asked some locals for some help. There are also frequent sand storms.. nothing too crazy. I ended up sleeping in my car and getting up early to swim in Lake Powell. Best part of my trip.
This place is truly incredible! Low costs and maximum beauty...
It's a nice place nearby Page where you can visit Antelope canyon, horseshoebend and lake powell. Magic sunsets and millions of stars in the sky ... like a fairytale...
Wrong address from the site. Take google map to avoid a long road for nothing
It was great. The view was incredible-especially at night. You just sort of drive in and pick a place to camp. If you're staying here and also doing things in arizona just remember the time difference. Stayed here July 2015-it was like $12 for me to camp with just my car and tent (no RV).
