“Live and feel the blues”
The Blue Front Cafe is one of the few remaining juke joints in Mississippi and regarded as the birthplace of the Bentonia Blues Style. Located on US 49 north of Jackson, MS, the Blue Front Cafe served as the gathering place for field hands working in the cotton fields. The Cafe is owned by Jimmy "Duck" Holmes, a blues legend, who periodically still performs at the Cafe. It's also the headquarters for the Bentonia Blues Festival held in June of every year.
