I felt doubtful about our decision to stay at the Red Barn Campground initially. Campground lighting is provided by a towering billboard overhead. The dog park was a scrap of desert across the grounds. Most of the residents looked like they hadn't moved their rigs in a year or three. However, the price was right ($14 with Passport America), the water was great (one of the few times we drank the water we hooked up to), and the owner was fantastic.
Although the owner initially seemed a bit gruff, very much coming across as a Sam Elliott sort of character, we warmed up to one another, and by the second morning he offered to help fix part of our fifth wheel, saying, "that's how we do things around here."
The town of Benson is tiny, but they have basic necessities, such as a grocery store, a bank, a gas station, and an AMAZING ice cream store. They are also located within easy driving distance of the Saguaro National Park, Sonoran National Park, and Tucson, with all it has to offer.

Arrived later in the evening after the office was closed, but thankfully they allowed self check in. Manager was responsive and helpful over the phone, and appreciated the hookups and convenience for the great price. I-10 was a little noisy but site was clean and felt safe.

This park is literally right next to the I-10, so it is very noisy. But, if you need a place to stop with full hookups and a good price it is hard to beat.
(update 12/2021) stayed here again. I would say that the new owners have improved the park from what it used to be. It's still very noisy though. The rates are higher than they used to be, but not too bad. Be careful not to get in the section with unmetered electricity if you want to stay for a month or more. There is a flat electric rate of $125. That rate is insane for Winter stay.

Paid $25 with our Passport America discount. With full hookups and easy to access from the interstate this was a great deal! We pulled in on a Friday night and were greeted by Christine upon pulling in. She is just as friendly in person as over the phone! We discovered there would be live music and dancing in the newly renovated metal building on the property. Lovely venue and lots of great people! The service here was the best we’ve received on the road. Keep your eye on this place if you travel though this area often because the owner is making really nice improvements to the property. I would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely loved this place! It was conveniently located off I-10 West. The price was adjusted for our Good Sam Membership. We were just passing through looking for a place to park our 24’ Motorhome for Wednesday evening the night before Thanksgiving. The Red Barn is under new ownership effective May 2020.
The host Christine was very friendly on the phone, met us as we pulled in & led us to a pull thru site with full hook ups & a little cactus garden just outside our door. Love the renovations Del has done on the Red Barn & The Event Center. We were invited to Thanksgiving Dinner provided by owners Del & Shannon. It was a delicious feast & by the time we left we felt like we had known them a long time. Super friendly! We were told they sponsor dances the 1st & 3rd Friday nights of the month in the Event Center.

The office person was LOVELY! However, it is basically a large dirt lot with a few shrubs. Our spot (23) was about 30 yards from I-10, so very noisy!

This place was a bit off the beaten path but had a 20% military discount and great internet ... we streamed movies all night. I would recommend staying here as a waypoint to anyone
