Confirmed by 6 users | Last reported on August 17, 2023Nice spot for overnight use only. There are 3 campsites along a paved road used for biking, walking, driving. Check-in is at 4:00 pm, check-out is at 9:00 am. During the day the path gets busy which is why check-out is at 9:00 a.m. Campsites have picnic tables for day use. Pay iron ranger after hours. Need to be self contained; no hookups, no facilities. Has a camp host and private residence nearby. Dirt and grass site pad.

We arrived past the check-in time to find closed gates. Major bummer, but the guy who lives in the private residence nearby drove up to us as we were looking for an alternate location on our phones and offered to open the gate for us to let us in. Very nice guy, and much appreciated. Too bad the gates weren’t just open for folks coming in later than 4pm!

Nice place to stay. You cannot park in your site until 4pm but you can park anywhere else in the park until then. There’s some nice shade in the back with picnic tables. Also, the next morning you have to move by 9am but again, you do not have to leave until before the gates close at 7pm. Park anywhere else. That’s great deal for $12.
Very friendly people and very clean and safe.

Gem! Definitely a go to spot with good cell reception and great weather. Quiet dry camping with outside running water. Not supposed to be hooked up but we did since we were the only ones staying that night.

Great overnight stop for $12. We tow a 25' TT with an F-150 and were able to stay hooked up, and just fit into the space. We arrived around 3:30. The ranger said we need to be out of the space by 9:00 a.m. but are welcome to parallel park near the entrance and enjoy the park. Water spigot, picnic table, and grill at the site. There's traffic noise intermixed with the sounds of nature.
Due to Covid, only two of three spots are available. Also, you arrive after 3 pm. Some reviews have said after 6 pm.
We walked the trail around the park, very relaxing!

Arrived at 4 on a Friday. One campsite was occupied so took spot #1 closest to the front. By 6 PM all three spots were taken. Ranger came by to take the $12 deposit and was helpful enough to give us details on the park and guide us to add an additional ticket to our unattached sedan so that they knew it was paid. There was a little bit of road noise but it wasn't a big deal.
We did have a bit of a surprise as a line of cars stared to form just outside of our spot starting at 6 AM. Turns out this is a very big fishing spot and there was a line all the way past the entrance to get in. They mostly kept quiet but we could hear some talking with the windows open. At 8 they all flooded into the park and we were left in peace.
There is a porta potty nearby and a camp grill and picnic table at each spot. Ground is sloped a little but didn't bother us.
The park donation sheet shows check out time as noon but the ranger emphasized it was 9 AM. They did say that we don't have to leave the park and can merely pull out of the enroute campsites and park along the road. Camping is only allowed for one night.
Overall I'd say it was a good experience for a really pretty spot and a cheep place to camp in the SF Bay area.

Perfect for a night’s stay plus a beautiful bayside park. There are three first-come first-served spots here. Only self-contained, no tents. The cost is $12 and it’s well worth it. This place is popular with walkers and runners, but is peaceful and calm at night. Some freeway noise but nothing disruptive.
If you spend the night here and have the time enjoy the park. There is a picnic area down the main road, Dillon Point Road, and also some walking and biking trails.
