Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on July 08, 2023We chose Barefoot Fishing Camp as our shakedown trip with our new camper. What a delightful gem of a campground. Everything worked perfectly. The bathrooms are a little older and in need of some maintenance but very serviceable and kept pretty clean. We will definitely return to stay longer.

It's off the beaten path but well worth it. The spaces are grass and the bathroom is disgusting but if you have an RV with a bathroom - who cares! The views were amazing and the drive onto the property was breath taking. Watch for cows and peackocks! make sure you're there for sunrise and sunset. look for turkey vultures in the trees.
When you get in there's a sketchy looking RV and a sign telling you to fill out a form, put it in the envelope with your payment (cash only) and stick it in the box. The box is that rusty metal thing on the pole :)
Go. Do it. It's so beautiful.
Oh, and the signs say no alcohol so grab a mug.

Reservations needed to go on site but it's first come first service on the primitive camp sites. Sites are grassy with plenty of tree shading. Most are along the river. Beautiful sunsets over the Colorado River cliffs. Quiet and clean. Bathrooms are clean and include showers. Shallows for wading and plenty of deeper water for fishing. Kayaking was very peaceful and scenery was awesome. Cell service is lacking but we were there to camp not chat on phones so we didn't mind at all. Will be spending a lot more time there.

Well marked directions to entry. Pay by check or cash. Staff is excellent. Spacious sites, great river access for fishing, swimming, canoes or kiyaks. Trails to walk along the river. The campground offers limited hookup or no hookup at all. It is an older park with good water pressure and stable electrical. There are lots of flies and the restrooms, though kept up, were gross, as in not clean. The campground itself is clean. The restrooms especially the showers, need updating. We camp in a small trailer. Would I recommend this park? Yes. When we return we will have a screened tent to cook and or eat in and bring our own portapotty.
