“enjoy the setting the pioneers once traveled”
We are located right in front of the famous Chimney Rock along the historic Oregon Trail. The rock has lights at the base for an amazing view at night.

We enjoy not having a bunch of activity and noise and people around, so we thought this was perfect. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the stars and an amazingly clear Milky Way. This will definitely be a place we will be back to visit.
Open ranch land surrounds this relatively small dirt/gravel road park, with two rows of 8 or so pull-throughs in each row. The view of Chimney Rock Historical Site is unobstructed and striking from the south RV row. RV sites are quite narrow, so with slide outs on either/both sides, you will be maybe 8-10 feet from your neighbor's rig. There is a UP train track parallel to highway 92, horns blow but tracks are straight so no wheel screeching. Full modern hookups (no cable) at each site. Cellphone reception (Verizon) is strong enough for data. You are fully exposed if storms come through (strong winds, hail, rain, thunder and lightning) with no place to shelter should a tornado develop. We experienced those weather concerns in late June. This is a generally quiet and beautiful park that we would visit again, with an eye on weather.
The rate was $325/month plus electric. Small RV park, close to Chimney Rock. Beautiful views and sunsets. Rural country setting. Friendly owners. Good water pressure, full hook ups. No wifi. Gravel roads and sites. Easy in and out. Nice little store that has good food (burgers, sandwiches, ice cream) and beer available. Lots of guests were working nearby, others stop through for a few nights just visiting. The park stayed fairly full the entire month we were here. There is a horse, 2 donkeys and a herd of cattle that live on the property also. I would stay again if we were working in the area or passing through.

Arrived late without a reservation. Gate was open and office was closed. Picked a spot at the edge of the campground. Only about 10 other sites occupied. Owner showed up while we were setting up. Friendly guy collected the fee and chatted about Chimney Rock.
Campground is well maintained with level site. All are pull through. Power, water and sewer. Picnic tables at most sites.
Great views of Chimney Rock. Highly recommend this place. Would stay longer or again.

We pulled in around 2:30 without a reservation. The owner Joe happened to be pulling out when we came in, Perfect timing! Our site was level, with plenty of wide open space to roam. Joe was incredibly kind and helped us out with some RV tips since we’re newbies, and he even gave us a departing ice cream treat because we had mentioned that we heard that they serve great ice cream during the regular season. Chimney rock lit up at night was beautiful. Look forward to staying here again, highly recommend!
